- • Be the hero behind the scenes at StarCompliance, the global leader in compliance technology for enterprise financial institutions. As our IT Support Engineer, you will own the end-to-end employee experience for 200+ colleagues across York and beyond, ensuring every laptop, application, and access request runs flawlessly so our teams can focus on making compliance simple and easy.
- • Provide Tier 1 & 2 support that delights: troubleshoot Windows 11 laptops, Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), VPN, and collaboration tools with empathy and speed, achieving >90 % first-contact resolution and keeping SLAs under two hours for high-priority tickets.
- • Own device lifecycle management from cradle to grave: image, configure, and secure new laptops via Microsoft Intune and BitLocker before day-one, then securely wipe and decommission hardware during offboarding, maintaining a 100 % audit-ready asset trail.
- • Act as the frontline guardian of identity and access: provision and de-provision accounts in Azure Entra ID, manage group memberships, enforce MFA, and resolve sign-in issues so every employee has the right access at the right time with zero security gaps.
- • Keep our Microsoft 365 tenant humming: administer Exchange Online mailboxes, Teams policies, SharePoint permissions, and OneDrive sync, partnering with Security to tune Defender for Office 365 and Sophos EDR policies that protect highly sensitive financial data.
- • Elevate endpoint security posture: push compliance profiles, encryption baselines, and EDR policies through Intune; monitor device health dashboards; remediate vulnerabilities before they become incidents.
- • Run a frictionless service desk: triage, prioritise, and document tickets in our ITSM platform, escalate complex issues to Infrastructure or Security teams, and publish knowledge-base articles that cut repeat tickets by 25 % within your first six months.
- • Champion continuous improvement: script repetitive tasks in PowerShell or Bash, automate onboarding checklists, and refine runbooks so the team can scale without adding headcount.
- • Collaborate across the business: partner with HR for seamless onboarding/offboarding workflows, with Finance on software license compliance, and with Product teams to beta-test new tools that enhance productivity.
- • Maintain laser-accurate inventory: track hardware, warranties, and SaaS licenses in our CMDB, forecast refresh cycles, and negotiate with vendors to keep costs down and compliance up.
- • Cultivate a culture of security awareness: deliver bite-sized training sessions and phishing simulations that turn every employee into a compliance ally.
- • Thrive in a hybrid-first environment: work three days a week from our modern York office and two days remotely, supported by LogMeIn and Teams for effortless remote assistance.
