📋 Description

• The IT Systems Engineer role is critical to maintaining and advancing enterprise-scale IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and performant for organizational operations.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include managing Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy), administering VMware ESXi/vSphere and Citrix virtualization platforms, overseeing Ivanti Endpoint Management and Microsoft Intune for device and application management, monitoring system performance, implementing security best practices, providing Tier 3/4 technical support, participating in disaster recovery efforts, and contributing to infrastructure design and documentation.
• The role is based at DesignWorks Talent in Indianapolis, supporting a client in the civil engineering and infrastructure industry, where the engineer will work on real-world systems that directly impact operational continuity and technological advancement.
• This position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in enterprise infrastructure, influence architecture decisions, gain hands-on experience with hybrid cloud and endpoint technologies, and develop leadership through mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure administration in a mid to large enterprise
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with VMware ESXi/vSphere, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Ivanti Endpoint Management, and Microsoft Intune
• Understanding of Cisco networking and Check Point firewall management
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging tools (e.g., SolarWinds)
