đź“‹ Description
- • As the first IT Systems & Security Engineer at Chamber Cardio, Inc., you will play a foundational role in building and securing the company’s technology infrastructure from the ground up, directly supporting the mission to transform cardiovascular care through technology and data-driven insights.
- • You will manage the full lifecycle of Apple and Windows endpoints, administer identity and access systems like Okta and Microsoft 365, maintain enterprise password management via Keeper, and serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for technical issues while creating self-service resources to improve efficiency.
- • You will contribute to compliance readiness for SOC 2 and HIPAA by maintaining audit trails, conducting access reviews, developing IT policies, and supporting security awareness initiatives including phishing simulations.
- • You will monitor and respond to security threats using Datadog and Sophos Central, tune security policies, build observability dashboards, participate in on-call rotations, and drive vulnerability management efforts including patch coordination and remediation validation.
- • In your first 90 days, you will deploy MDM across all endpoints, evaluate and implement a Data Loss Prevention solution, and establish a scalable IT support desk with ticketing systems, documentation, and operational playbooks.
- • You will join a mission-driven team focused on rebuilding cardiovascular care by empowering independent cardiologists with technology, data, and operational tools that prioritize patient outcomes over volume.
- • The company values low ego, empathy, courage, ownership, and grit — fostering a culture where innovation is balanced with human-centered care and accountability.
- • This role offers the opportunity to shape security and IT practices in a growing health-tech startup, gaining deep experience in enterprise systems, compliance frameworks, and cloud security while working remotely with occasional travel to Nashville, DC, or partner clinics.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–6 years of combined experience in IT administration and/or security operations in a corporate or startup environment.
- • Hands-on experience managing macOS and Windows endpoints at scale, including familiarity with Apple Business Manager and Intune or equivalent MDM solutions.
- • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Defender for Business.
- • Working knowledge of Sophos Central for endpoint protection, XDR, firewall management, and policy configuration.
- • Experience with Datadog for infrastructure monitoring, log management, alerting, and writing log queries using its query language.
- • AWS fundamentals knowledge, including IAM, EC2, S3, VPC, CloudTrail, and security groups; AWS Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) or equivalent experience preferred.
- • Experience administering an enterprise password manager such as Keeper, 1Password, or similar platforms.
- • Understanding of security frameworks and best practices, including Zero Trust, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and HIPAA technical safeguards.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote work flexibility with optional hybrid arrangements in Nashville or Washington, DC.
- • Opportunity to be a foundational hire in shaping IT and security infrastructure at a mission-driven health-tech startup.
- • Exposure to enterprise-grade tools including Microsoft 365, Okta, Datadog, Sophos Central, AWS, and Keeper.
- • Professional growth in compliance areas such as SOC 2 and HIPAA, with hands-on involvement in audit readiness and policy development.
- • Access to ongoing learning and development aligned with Chamber’s values of curiosity, ownership, and grit.
- • Periodic travel to clinical partner sites or company offices, offering meaningful engagement with the real-world impact of your work.
