• • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in providing advanced technical leadership and support for our critical manufacturing test software deployed across numerous production facilities. You will be responsible for the operational excellence and ongoing development of these systems, ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous improvement. This position demands a deep understanding of Java-based architectures, microservices, and modern software development practices, coupled with a strategic mindset to address complex challenges and drive innovation.
• • Your primary responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of manufacturing test software. This includes maintaining and enhancing existing codebases, developing new features to meet evolving business needs, and enabling a robust development framework. You will be tasked with creating high-level software design specifications and behavioral design documents, ensuring clarity and alignment across development teams. A key aspect of this role is establishing and enforcing best practices for high-quality software development and sustaining activities. This involves contributing to and improving our software build methodologies, procedures, and development environments, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• • Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in the deployment and maintenance of these software solutions. This involves working with technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration, implementing effective deployment strategies, and ensuring seamless integration into our production environments. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive observability within our systems, enabling proactive monitoring, rapid issue detection, and efficient troubleshooting. Security will be a paramount concern, and you will contribute to implementing and maintaining secure coding practices and system configurations.
• • This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, leveraging your expertise in areas like event-driven architectures (e.g., Message Bus, nats.io, Kafka), microservices patterns, and database management and optimization (AIDB). You will be expected to contribute to the continuous evolution of our technology stack, potentially exploring and integrating new frameworks like Quarkus, and leveraging Graal for native compilation to enhance performance. Experience with web development, including frameworks like React, and a strong understanding of RESTful APIs are essential. You will also be involved in testing strategies, including unit, integration, and mocking, to ensure the robustness and reliability of the software.

• • Enhance system observability through effective logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
• • Ensure the security of software applications by adhering to best practices and implementing necessary controls.
• • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments, minimizing downtime and impact.
• • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to deliver integrated solutions.
• • Mentor and guide junior developers and support staff on technical best practices and problem-solving techniques.
