Javascript Engineer (IV-V)

📋 Description

• • Design, develop, and maintain Confiant’s client-side JavaScript SDK that detects and blocks malvertising, scams, and compliance risks in real-time across publisher and ad platform integrations.
• • Optimize SDK internals for maximum runtime performance, minimizing execution time, memory footprint, and impact on page load in diverse, high-traffic ad environments.
• • Build and manage SDK versioning, deployment, and distribution strategies to ensure seamless rollouts and backward compatibility across a heterogeneous customer base.
• • Translate security threat intelligence from research teams into actionable JavaScript detection and blocking logic embedded directly within ad creatives and publisher pages.
• • Instrument the SDK with robust observability systems to capture signals, errors, and detection events and relay them reliably to Confiant’s backend analytics infrastructure.
• • Collaborate closely with security researchers to rapidly prototype and implement new heuristics against evolving malvertising techniques and ad injection patterns.
• • Conduct rigorous performance profiling, benchmarking, and regression testing to ensure SDK updates never degrade publisher page experience or user interaction.
• • Champion and establish engineering best practices for testing, documentation, code review, and release processes specific to client-side SDK development.
• • Debug complex, time-sensitive production issues occurring in live ad environments across multiple browsers, devices, and cross-origin contexts.
• • Own the full lifecycle of SDK features—from initial design and implementation to operational support and iterative improvement based on real-world performance data.
• • Work within a fully remote, global engineering team that emphasizes end-to-end ownership, collaboration, and continuous technical improvement.
• • Participate in optional monthly gatherings in New York City and quarterly on-sites worldwide to foster team cohesion and trust.
• • Maintain deep awareness of browser security models including same-origin policy, Content Security Policy (CSP), and cross-origin isolation to ensure SDK integrity and compliance.
• • Ensure SDK payload size, parse time, and network impact are optimized for low-bandwidth and high-latency environments common in global ad ecosystems.
• • Partner with Core Engineering to integrate SDK outputs with backend systems that process tens of millions of transactions daily.
• • Contribute to the evolution of engineering standards and principles within the team, particularly around SDK reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
