📋 Description

• As a Junior Design Engineer at Ashby, you will bridge design and engineering to create impactful user experiences for a product used by over 100,000 weekly active users and notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake.
• You will design and implement UI/UX features, contribute to and evolve the in-house design system, collaborate with Product Engineers to refine designs, and ship end-to-end solutions—from wireframes to production code—using TypeScript, React, and CSS.
• You’ll join a small, high-trust engineering team that values ownership, minimal process, and deliberate communication, where engineers run their projects end-to-end and collaborate naturally across time zones.
• In this role, you’ll grow your ability to balance visual design excellence with technical implementation, gain experience shipping features at scale, and learn how design decisions influence data models and system flexibility—all while working in a culture that prioritizes diversity, leverages AI tooling, and encourages regular feedback and iteration.

🎯 Requirements

• No more than 2 years of industry experience as a designer or engineer
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and CSS
• Demonstrated visual taste and burgeoning talent in both UI/UX and engineering through personal or professional projects with at least a couple of users
