- • Join Veeam Software Group GmbH, a global leader in backup, recovery and data-management solutions, as a Junior Developer in QA and help safeguard the data of more than 450,000 organizations worldwide. You will become part of the award-winning Prague R&D hub—home to 400+ engineers—where innovation, speed and quality converge to deliver rock-solid products that protect everything from virtual machines to cloud-native workloads.
- • You will be embedded in one of our test-automation teams that own the continuous quality of Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows and other flagship offerings. Your daily playground will be a hybrid codebase of Python and modern C++ that orchestrates thousands of automated test cases running on VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. From day one you will write, extend and refactor test frameworks, harnesses and micro-services that simulate real-world disaster-recovery scenarios at petabyte scale.
- • Your code will directly influence release velocity. Every pull request you merge triggers a CI pipeline that spins up hundreds of VMs and containers, executes regression suites and publishes quality dashboards consumed by engineering leadership. You will collaborate with senior SDETs to identify flaky tests, reduce execution time and push code-coverage above 90 %. The faster and more reliable your automation becomes, the sooner customers receive bullet-proof updates.
- • Expect to dive deep into distributed systems, storage protocols and hypervisor internals. You will reproduce elusive corner-case bugs reported by support, craft minimal failing test cases and pair with core developers to land fixes. Your investigative skills will be sharpened by analyzing kernel logs, storage snapshots and network traces—turning chaos into clarity.
- • You will participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives that follow Scrum-ban principles. User stories are written as testable requirements, so you will influence acceptance criteria before a single line of feature code is written. Your voice matters: junior engineers regularly pitch architectural improvements that are adopted across the department.
- • Mentorship is built into our DNA. You will be paired with a senior QA developer who provides weekly 1-on-1 coaching, code reviews and career guidance. In addition, you will attend internal bootcamps on advanced Python asyncio, C++17/20 features, performance profiling and security testing. Within six months you will be ready to own a major test-automation component end-to-end.
- • We believe quality is everyone’s responsibility. You will join our "bug-bash" days where the entire R&D division hunts for defects, and you will present findings in lightning talks. Your discoveries often translate into new static-analysis rules, linters or smoke tests that prevent regressions before they reach customers.
- • The Prague office offers a hybrid-remote model: work from anywhere in the Czech Republic or drop by our riverside campus for white-boarding sessions, VR gaming breaks and rooftop barbecues. English is the working language; Czech lessons are provided if you wish to integrate locally.

🎯 Requirements
- • 1+ years of professional or academic experience writing code in Python or C++; university projects, open-source contributions and internships count
- • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures and object-oriented design; ability to read and debug complex codebases
- • Hands-on exposure to automated testing concepts—unit, integration, system or regression testing—and familiarity with at least one framework such as pytest, GoogleTest or Catch2
- • Comfortable working in a Linux environment: bash scripting, git workflows, package management and basic system administration
- • Nice-to-have: experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), cloud APIs (AWS, Azure, GCP) or CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, TeamCity)
