📋 Description

• As a LATAM Risk & AI Manager at Feedzai, you will be at the forefront of financial risk management, leading a dynamic, cross-functional team dedicated to empowering some of the world's largest financial institutions and merchants. Your mission is to ensure these clients extract tangible, measurable value from Feedzai's cutting-edge RiskOps platform, which leverages advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence to combat fraud and enhance digital trust in an increasingly cashless world.
• You will spearhead a team comprised of highly skilled Risk Consultants, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts. This team operates in close collaboration with clients, acting as trusted advisors to optimize fraud detection strategies, develop sophisticated machine learning models, implement business-aligned risk logic, and derive actionable data insights. Your leadership will be crucial in translating complex client objectives into robust, data-driven solutions.
• Your role involves managing a portfolio of high-impact client projects, typically overseeing 6–8 active engagements simultaneously. You will be the key decision-maker for technical and strategic direction within these projects, ensuring the successful delivery of fraud detection strategies, rules, models, and analyses that not only meet client goals but also adhere to Feedzai's established best practices.
• A significant aspect of your responsibility will be to translate intricate business challenges into clear, actionable technical plans. You will guide your team and clients through the integration and validation processes of Feedzai’s real-time and batch analytics solutions within their existing environments. This requires a deep understanding of both the Feedzai platform and the operational realities of financial institutions.
• You will play a vital role in identifying areas for improvement, such as pinpointing misfit cases, defining the scope for performance enhancements, and proactively recommending strategic upgrades to client systems and fraud prevention measures. This requires a keen analytical eye and a forward-thinking approach to risk management.
• Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with Feedzai's Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure alignment on scope feasibility, performance requirements, and the overarching long-term strategy for our platform and client solutions. This cross-functional synergy is essential for delivering cohesive and effective outcomes.
• Beyond project delivery, you will be a dedicated mentor and leader for your team. This includes managing performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, coaching team members, and actively supporting their professional development and career progression. Cultivating a high-performing, motivated team is paramount.
• Continuous learning and staying ahead of the curve are critical. You will be expected to remain current with evolving fraud patterns, the latest machine learning best practices, and their practical application within complex, real-world financial systems. This knowledge will inform your strategic guidance and team's technical execution.

• The Customer Success team at Feedzai is the engine driving product delivery and client value realization. • Your initial 30 days will involve a comprehensive immersion into Feedzai's culture and operations. You'll receive dedicated training, build connections with key team members and your manager, and gain historical context and deep knowledge about our company and the team's work. You will begin collaborating on ongoing projects, supported throughout your onboarding journey.

🎯 Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, Statistics, or another highly technical/quantitative discipline.
• Strong background in data science, fraud detection, or real-time decision systems, with hands-on experience in machine learning and data analysis using scripting languages like Python or R.
• Proven experience managing technical teams within cross-functional delivery environments, demonstrating leadership and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of effectively engaging with both client subject matter experts and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with big data platforms such as Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-native data pipelines.
• Experience in financial crime prevention (fraud, AML, risk strategy) is highly valued.
