- • Lead AI Engineer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, driving healthcare AI innovation to automate and optimize clinical, operational, and administrative workflows in support of the mission to cure pediatric catastrophic diseases.
- • Design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI systems—including LLMs, agentic AI, and ML solutions—ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and seamless integration into enterprise healthcare environments.
- • Collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, informaticists, IT, and business stakeholders to translate clinical and operational needs into robust, auditable AI solutions with human-in-the-loop controls and clear performance metrics.
- • Own the full lifecycle of AI systems from deployment through monitoring, optimization, and retirement, establishing MLOps/LLMOps practices, logging, alerting, and incident response to maintain uptime and trust.
- • Serve as a technical mentor within Analytics Services, shaping engineering standards, evaluating emerging AI technologies, and mentoring teams on best practices for enterprise AI in regulated healthcare settings.
- • Ensure AI systems align with institutional governance, regulatory expectations, and responsible AI principles through auditability, versioning, access controls, and documentation for transparency and long-term sustainability.
- • Contribute to St. Jude’s mission by enabling resource optimization and enhanced decision-making through AI that supports faster, safer, and more effective pediatric care and research.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field required; PhD preferred with demonstrated production AI system delivery.
- • 5+ years of experience designing and building production-grade AI/ML systems (not prototypes), including deployment, monitoring, and operations in regulated or high-availability environments.
- • Proficiency in Python and modern ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), with deep learning expertise in supervised/unsupervised learning, LLMs, NLP, time series, anomaly detection, and generative AI.
