- • We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead AI Engineer to spearhead our Agentic AI team. This is a pivotal role as we aggressively scale our agentic offerings across all echelons of the U.S. government. Over the past year, we've witnessed the remarkable and rapid adoption of our agent, Ace. Our ambitious vision is for Ace to evolve into a highly capable entity, adept at handling increasingly complex tasks and workflows end-to-end, either autonomously or in seamless cooperation with human users. The team is dedicated to enhancing Ace's effectiveness by focusing on sophisticated planning capabilities, ensuring reliable execution over extended task horizons, mastering scaled tool utilization, developing advanced Ace Skills, implementing robust memory functions, and enabling seamless inter-agent coordination.
- • As the Lead AI Engineer, you will be instrumental in guiding the technical direction and execution of our agentic AI initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced agentic systems. This includes architecting scalable and robust solutions, making critical technical design and architecture decisions, and providing day-to-day leadership and mentorship to a talented team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. You will foster a collaborative and innovative environment, driving the team to achieve ambitious goals and push the boundaries of what's possible with AI agents.
- • A core aspect of this role involves deep engagement with Large Language Models (LLMs). You will leverage your extensive experience integrating and working with LLMs, possessing a strong, nuanced understanding of their capabilities, limitations, and potential applications. This includes hands-on experience with agent frameworks such as the Claude Agent SDK or OpenAI Agent SDK, enabling you to build sophisticated agentic behaviors.
- • You will be responsible for establishing and refining the observability, evaluation, and feedback loops essential for robust agent behavior. This encompasses implementing comprehensive telemetry, developing sophisticated prompt evaluation strategies, establishing rigorous regression testing protocols, and defining key reliability metrics to ensure the performance, safety, and trustworthiness of our AI agents.
- • This role demands a proactive and adaptable mindset, particularly when operating in highly ambiguous environments. You will be expected to embrace challenges, drive initiatives forward with a sense of urgency, and navigate complex problem spaces with confidence and agility.
- • You will play a key role in leading Agile ceremonies and strategic technical planning for the Agentic AI team, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives and fostering efficient development cycles.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve designing and building sophisticated multi-agent systems that incorporate advanced features such as dynamic tool use, persistent memory, intelligent routing, and strategic planning. You will develop novel Agent Skills and tools, architecting them as modular, composable services that can seamlessly interact with backend systems, various models, and complex data processing pipelines.
- • You will collaborate closely with our Product and Implementation teams, identifying and developing innovative solutions to our customers' most challenging problems by strategically applying agentic AI capabilities.
- • Furthermore, you will contribute to the automated evaluation of agents, skills, and prompts throughout the entire product lifecycle, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to high-quality standards.
- • We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a proven track record of building complex projects on LLMs, showcasing a strong aptitude for guiding these models to perform intricate tasks reliably and effectively. Your passion for building autonomous and semi-autonomous systems that directly address and solve real customer problems will be a driving force in your success.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 3 years of experience building and deploying ML or LLM-powered systems in production environments.
- • Minimum 2 years of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams in production environments.
- • Practical experience in building, developing, and productionizing machine learning systems.
- • Advanced software skills in Python.
- • Experience with common LLM algorithms and implementations.
- • Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
- • A strong desire to learn and investigate new technologies.
- • Familiarity with Git source control management.
- • Ability to work collaboratively with little supervision.
- • U.S. Citizenship is required.
