- • Own the end-to-end Android product for Polymarket, including technical architecture, product quality, and roadmap execution, ensuring a scalable and high-performing mobile experience.
- • Lead, manage, and organize a team of Android engineers and contractors, establishing clear workflows, performance standards, and career development paths as the mobile team scales.
- • Set and own the technical direction for the Android platform, making architectural decisions that prioritize scalability, maintainability, and long-term stability aligned with company growth.
- • Translate Polymarket’s business objectives—such as increasing user engagement, improving trading volume, and expanding market reach—into actionable technical priorities and product roadmaps.
- • Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and executive leadership teams to align on feature priorities, launch timelines, and quality benchmarks across platforms.
- • Establish and enforce strong engineering standards for the Android team, including rigorous code review practices, automated testing, release cadence, and monitoring protocols.
- • Drive product quality by owning bug resolution, performance optimization, crash reduction, and user experience improvements across all Android devices and OS versions.
- • Act as the primary technical liaison between Android development and other departments, ensuring seamless integration with backend APIs, blockchain data feeds, and cross-platform features.
- • Advocate for user-centric design and functionality by actively participating in product discovery sessions, reviewing UI/UX wireframes, and providing technical feedback to designers.
- • Cultivate a culture of high ownership, accountability, and technical excellence within the Android team, mentoring engineers and contractors to raise collective skill levels.
- • Proactively identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability risks in the Android codebase and implement strategic plans to address them ahead of growth pressures.
- • Evaluate and integrate third-party SDKs, libraries, and tools that enhance app functionality while maintaining security, performance, and compliance standards.
- • Ensure all Android releases meet Polymarket’s operational and regulatory requirements, particularly around data privacy, financial transaction integrity, and user authentication.
- • Monitor app store metrics (e.g., ratings, reviews, crash reports, retention) and use insights to inform iterative improvements and prioritize upcoming sprints.
- • Contribute to hiring and onboarding processes for Android roles, defining interview rubrics, assessing candidates’ technical and leadership fit, and integrating new team members effectively.
- • Stay current with Android ecosystem trends, Google’s platform updates, and emerging best practices in mobile development to ensure Polymarket’s app remains technologically competitive.

- • Comfortable operating in a small, early-stage team environment where context shifts quickly and ownership is broad
- • Strong business and product judgment: you understand goals beyond the technical and can make tradeoffs that reflect what actually matters to the company
- • Experience managing engineers and contractors, with a track record of organizing and developing a high-performing team
- • Deep Android platform expertise and a strong grasp of Android-specific design patterns and constraints
- • Excellent cross-functional communication skills: you work well with product, design, and non-technical stakeholders
