• • As a Lead Engineer / Tech Lead for Growth at Maximus Tribe, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the company's customer acquisition strategy. This pivotal role involves a dynamic 50/50 split between hands-on coding and team leadership, focusing on optimizing the entire lower acquisition funnel, from initial user flow through the checkout process across all Maximus health protocols.
• • Your primary objective will be to drive a significant increase in the conversion rate from flow start to checkout (CVR). This north star metric underscores the critical nature of your work in directly impacting the company's revenue and growth trajectory.
• • A key aspect of this role is balancing conversion optimization with user quality, guided by an M1 Retention guardrail. This means every experiment and optimization must include a built-in quality check to ensure that increased conversion doesn't come at the expense of long-term customer value and retention.
• • You will lead and mentor a small, high-performing team of engineers, fostering their professional development through regular one-on-one meetings, pair programming sessions, constructive code reviews, and dedicated career development conversations.
• • A core responsibility is owning the end-to-end experiment design process. This includes meticulously selecting the right metrics, determining appropriate sample sizes, and expertly navigating the inherent tension between optimizing for conversion and maintaining high user retention.
• • You will be responsible for the continuous iteration and optimization of the plan and pricing architecture, which includes seamless integration with payment platforms like Stripe and Klarna.
• • A significant part of your role will involve building and maintaining the robust experimentation infrastructure that your team relies on, ensuring its scalability and reliability.
• • You will collaborate closely with the data engineering team to implement and instrument cohort-level M1 retention tracking for each experiment, providing crucial data for performance analysis.
• • Embracing the future of software development, you will drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code and Devin, across your team to significantly enhance shipping velocity and overall development efficiency.
• • You will ship full-stack features that directly enhance the user acquisition funnel, utilizing the company's core technology stack of Ruby on Rails and React.
• • The role demands a deep understanding of funnel and cohort analysis, moving beyond feature-centric development to a holistic view of the customer journey and its impact on business metrics.
• • You will be expected to work with an event-sourced architecture, understanding how state is derived from event streams, and contribute to its ongoing development and maintenance.
• • Partnering with a Senior Product Manager and Senior Designer, you will translate product vision and user needs into technical solutions that drive measurable growth.
• • Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will contribute to the broader engineering strategy and uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and deployment practices.
