• • As a Lead Engineer / Tech Lead for Growth at Maximus Tribe, you will be instrumental in shaping the company's customer acquisition strategy and execution. This pivotal role involves a dynamic 50/50 split between hands-on coding and team leadership, focusing on optimizing the entire lower acquisition funnel, from initial user engagement through to the final checkout process across all Maximus health protocols.
• • Your primary objective will be to drive a significant increase in the Conversion Rate (CVR) from Flow Start to Checkout. This north star metric underscores the critical nature of your work in directly impacting the company's revenue and growth trajectory.
• • You will also be responsible for upholding an M1 Retention guardrail, ensuring that optimization efforts for conversion do not compromise user quality or long-term retention. This dual mandate requires a nuanced approach to experimentation, where every deployed feature and A/B test includes a built-in quality check to balance immediate conversion gains with sustainable user engagement.
• • You will lead and mentor a dedicated team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. This includes conducting regular one-on-one meetings, engaging in pair programming sessions, providing constructive code reviews, and guiding career development conversations to nurture talent within the team.
• • A key aspect of your role will be owning the end-to-end experiment design process. This involves meticulous selection of metrics, precise calculation of sample sizes, and skillful navigation of the inherent tension between optimizing for CVR and maintaining high user retention.
• • You will be tasked with iterating on and continuously optimizing the plan and pricing architecture, which includes managing and enhancing integrations with payment platforms like Stripe and Klarna.
• • A significant responsibility will be building and maintaining the robust experimentation infrastructure that your team relies upon, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• • You will collaborate closely with the data engineering team to implement and instrument cohort-level M1 retention tracking for each experiment, providing crucial data for performance analysis and future strategy.
• • In line with Maximus's forward-thinking approach, you will drive the adoption and effective utilization of AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code and Devin, to significantly enhance shipping velocity and overall development efficiency across the team.
• • Your technical contributions will span the full stack, utilizing Ruby on Rails 7 and React 18 with TypeScript 5.4 to ship new features and A/B experiments. You will work within an event-sourced architecture, leveraging PostgreSQL, Redis, and Delayed Job for background processing.
• • You will be a key partner to a Senior Product Manager and a Senior Designer, working collaboratively to define priorities and execute on growth initiatives within two-week sprint cycles.
