- • Lead Observability Engineer role at Kobie Marketing, Inc. – Be among the first hires for the new India Tech Hub, shaping the foundation of a global capabilities center for a 35-year industry leader in loyalty technology recognized as a Forrester Leader and USA Top Workplace.
- • Drive the strategy, adoption, and evolution of observability across all production and delivery environments to ensure system reliability, performance visibility, and proactive issue resolution, operating at the intersection of Engineering, DevOps, and Production Support to shift from reactive operations to AI-driven, automated reliability.
- • Own and evolve the observability platform (e.g., New Relic) to deliver end-to-end visibility across applications and infrastructure, establishing standardized practices for monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and telemetry collection (logs, metrics, traces) to create a unified view of system health.
- • Leverage AIOps capabilities to enhance anomaly detection, reduce alert noise, and accelerate root cause analysis through intelligent correlation of telemetry data, enabling faster incident response and improved system resilience.
- • Drive automation and self-healing workflows by designing and implementing intelligent remediation actions that minimize manual intervention, improve mean time to recovery (MTTR), and increase overall system uptime and stability.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, and production support teams to embed observability by design, ensuring new services and features are instrumented correctly from inception and aligned with organizational reliability goals (e.g., SLOs, SLIs).
- • Continuously analyze system behavior, incident patterns, and performance trends to identify optimization opportunities, improve scalability, and enhance the overall performance and availability of Kobie’s loyalty platforms serving global brands.
- • Contribute to building a highly reliable, data-driven, and scalable operational ecosystem where observability is treated as a core pillar of engineering excellence, enabling faster innovation cycles and greater confidence in system changes.
- • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promote observability best practices across the organization, and help establish the India Tech Hub as a center of excellence for operational intelligence and system reliability.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading observability strategy and implementation in complex, production environments using tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, or similar platforms.
- • Strong background in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering with hands-on experience in telemetry collection (logs, metrics, traces), alerting, dashboarding, and AIOps concepts.
- • Demonstrated ability to drive automation and self-healing workflows to reduce manual toil and improve system resilience through scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and integration with incident management systems.
- • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across engineering, DevOps, and production support teams to promote observability by design and align with reliability objectives.
- • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) is highly desirable.
- • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for developing custom integrations, automation scripts, and telemetry processors.
