• • In this pivotal role, you will own the end-to-end design for Deel's most critical Client and Worker experiences within our Fintech domain. This encompasses everything from initial concept and user research to high-fidelity prototyping and final visual execution. You will be instrumental in shaping products that are used by hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of workers globally, making a tangible difference in their financial operations and daily workflows. • • Your responsibilities will be multifaceted, blending strategic vision with hands-on execution and team development. Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to shaping the future vision of our Client and Worker experiences. This involves partnering closely with Product and Engineering Directors to identify emerging trends, connect disparate user journeys, challenge existing paradigms, and redefine what's possible in global payroll and payments. You'll be a key player in envisioning the next generation of Deel's Fintech offerings, ensuring they remain innovative and market-leading.
• • The largest portion of your role, around 40%, will be spent in 'operator mode.' This means actively working alongside other designers on active B2B and B2C projects. You will be responsible for tightening UX flows, solving complex design challenges, and continuously raising the quality bar in real-time. Your expertise will be crucial in refining interactions, ensuring visual consistency, and delivering polished, user-centric designs that meet the high standards expected at Deel. This hands-on approach ensures that our products not only look good but also function flawlessly and intuitively for our diverse user base.
• • The remaining 30% of your time will be focused on team leadership. You will manage and develop a small, talented team of designers through close, hands-on collaboration. This involves fostering an environment of clarity, setting ambitious goals, and consistently raising the bar for design excellence. Your leadership style will be supportive and empowering, prioritizing the growth and success of your team members. You will guide them, provide constructive feedback, and champion their work, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to excel. This leadership approach is about enabling others to do their best work by setting a clear example and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• • We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of at least 8 years in Product Design, with a minimum of 3 years operating at a very senior individual contributor level, such as Lead or Staff Designer. Crucially, you must have at least 2 years of experience managing and mentoring designers. Experience within fast-moving product companies, particularly scale-ups, strong tech organizations, or the fintech/neo-banking sector, is highly desirable. You should possess a strong craft across both interaction and visual design, with the ability to navigate and excel in both B2B and consumer-facing product experiences. Solid mobile design experience is also a key requirement, as our platform is accessed across various devices. While not mandatory, prior experience in the fintech industry will be considered a significant advantage, given the specialized nature of our domain.
