  • • As a Lead Product Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our product. We operate with a philosophy of extreme ownership, where engineers are empowered to drive product strategy and execution. This means you will not be confined to traditional engineering roles; instead, you will have significant agency in defining what we build, how we build it, and how it delivers value to our users. You will translate ambiguous problems into clear, high-impact product decisions, leveraging your technical expertise and product intuition without the need for dedicated product managers.
  • • Our core product is focused on AI-generated email drafts, enhanced by contextual understanding derived from your inbox, meetings, and messages. We are a pure-play applied AI company, not a tool with AI bolted on. Our technical approach involves leveraging state-of-the-art techniques, including fine-tuned open-source models, tool use, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). You will be at the forefront of developing and refining these models, ensuring they deliver exceptional performance and user satisfaction.
  • • This role demands a hands-on approach to building and shipping production software. You will be responsible for owning systems end-to-end, from initial concept and research through to development, deployment, and ongoing optimization. Your work will directly impact the user experience and the company's trajectory. Examples of the impact our engineers have include building entire product features like a product notetaker in six months, developing a human data platform for model training, and leading infrastructure development while also contributing to core product features.

  • • We are deeply committed to focus and efficiency. To minimize distractions and maximize productivity, we implement company-wide focus time with no meetings scheduled until 3 PM daily. 🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software, with deep expertise in Python or TypeScript and a track record of owning systems end-to-end.
  • • Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML tooling (LLMs, fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, distributed training, inference optimisation, etc.) and proven ability to work directly with models in production.
  • • Strong product intuition and user-centric mindset, able to translate ambiguous problems into simple, high-impact product decisions without product managers.
  • • Startup-ready mindset: comfortable operating with extreme ownership, rapid iteration, and high autonomy within a small, elite technical team.
  • • Proven ability to contribute to product strategy and make product decisions independently.
  • • Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
