Lead Security Operations Engineer

📋 Description

• • As the Lead Security Operations Engineer at Quartermaster AI, you will own the full spectrum of security operations, from detection and incident response to infrastructure hardening and vulnerability management, ensuring the security of cloud environments, development pipelines, and edge-deployed maritime systems in contested, mission-critical environments.
• • You will architect and automate the defensive security stack, lead end-to-end incident response and threat hunting, implement hardening standards for CI/CD and containerized systems, and align security operations with NIST 800-171 and CMMC frameworks while translating metrics into executive reporting.
• • You will work closely with Engineering and GRC teams at Quartermaster AI, a company leveraging AI and robotics to enhance maritime domain awareness through distributed open-ocean systems that enable vessels to sense, compute, and communicate in defense-critical scenarios.
• • In this role, you will build a security organization from the ground up, gain deep experience in defense-industry security operations, master automation of security stacks across cloud and edge environments, and develop expertise in compliance frameworks critical to national security missions.
