📋 Description

• As a Lead Software Engineer at Humana Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological foundation of a leading healthcare organization dedicated to putting health first for millions of members nationwide. Your technical leadership will directly influence the development of scalable, secure, and innovative software solutions that improve consumer experiences and support Humana’s mission of delivering better health outcomes.
• You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring alignment with organizational vision, mission, and strategic objectives while actively participating in project planning, solution design reviews, and requirements analysis to guide the delivery of complex, custom-developed cloud-based applications.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include developing detailed low-level designs, engaging in daily agile stand-ups with stakeholders and teams, collaborating across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure groups to deliver high-quality solutions, and partnering with enterprise architecture teams to ensure a resilient, state-of-the-art cloud environment for critical enterprise applications.
• You will develop and deliver proofs-of-concept (POCs) and sample implementations for widespread adoption, utilize AI tools to accelerate code scaffolding, test automation, migrations, and documentation, and work with senior leadership to influence project timelines, deliverables, and strategic direction on significant initiatives.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will track and plan agile work supporting core cloud development, oversee testing and debugging procedures, develop fixes for complex software issues, research complaints, and make recommendations to resolve software-related challenges while exercising independent judgment under minimal supervision.
• The engineering team at Humana operates with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and collaboration, leveraging modern cloud platforms (Azure/GCP), microservices, DevOps practices, and AI-enhanced workflows to build reliable, secure, and scalable systems that serve diverse populations including Medicare, Medicaid, military personnel, and underserved communities.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise-scale cloud architecture, AI-assisted development, API management (Apigee), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible), while gaining exposure to healthcare-specific systems and regulations, positioning you as a technical leader in health technology innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in coding and development on cloud-based platforms (Azure/GCP).
• Strong proficiency in .NET Framework 7+, .NET Core, and Python; familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP), APIs, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Strong background in designing and implementing RESTful APIs using the Chassis framework and microservices architecture, with experience in Apigee API Management.
• Expertise with Git and DevOps for version control and CI/CD pipeline development in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences in healthcare.

• Competitive base pay range of $129,300 - $177,800 per year, eligible for bonus incentive plans based on company and/or individual performance.
