📋 Description

• As a Lead Software Engineer at Capital on Tap, you will drive technical excellence across multiple engineering teams while remaining hands-on in software development, playing a pivotal role in shaping architecture, aligning technical direction with business strategy, and mentoring engineers to uphold the highest standards of quality and innovation.
• You will lead high-impact projects from concept to delivery, collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and Technical Leaders to ensure alignment on execution, establish and enforce coding standards, identify and mitigate technical risks proactively, and champion initiatives such as AI tool adoption and automation to raise the engineering bar across the organization.
• The Engineering team at Capital on Tap operates in a hybrid model from the London (Moorgate) office two days per week, fostering collaboration in a supportive, inclusive environment where authenticity thrives and engineers are empowered to do their best work while contributing to a mission that helps over 200,000 small businesses globally save time and money through an all-in-one business credit card and spend management platform.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in technical leadership, scalable system architecture, and cross-functional collaboration, while gaining influence over product and technical strategy, mentoring engineers across teams, and contributing to the company’s goal of helping 1 million small businesses by 2030 through innovation in fintech.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience in technical leadership, including mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across teams
• Extensive commercial experience with C#/.Net/.Net Core and React, with hands-on proficiency in modern software development practices
• Experience with RESTful API design and Azure cloud development, including a cloud-first approach to building scalable systems
• Proficiency in SQL and a strong commitment to maintaining high code quality through comprehensive unit and integration testing
• Strong technical background in scalable system architecture and the ability to manage cross-functional projects effectively with Product, QA, and other stakeholders
