Machine Learning Engineer

📋 Description

• • As a Machine Learning Engineer on the Foundations team at Shipt, you will own the entire ML lifecycle—from creating proof-of-concepts and building production-ready systems to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance—directly impacting key business metrics through scalable, high-performance ML solutions.
• • Day to day, you will design and conduct offline experiments to validate algorithmic changes, optimize model performance and scalability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and maintain ML systems in production environments using Python and modern ML frameworks.
• • You will join Shipt’s Foundations team, a retail tech company owned by Target Corporation, dedicated to connecting customers with reliable, high-quality delivery while fostering a culture of belonging, growth, and community impact across more than 5,000 U.S. cities.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in applied ML domains such as LLMs, Transformers, recommendations, and personalization, while advancing your software engineering skills in Python and gaining end-to-end ownership of ML systems in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
