- • As a Machine Learning Engineer at Gray Swan AI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI safety solutions by bridging cutting-edge research with real-world deployment, ensuring AI systems are secure, robust, and resilient against adversarial threats in high-stakes environments.
- • You will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models using distributed systems and parallel computing to enhance scalability and performance, directly contributing to the company’s mission of protecting organizations from emerging AI security threats through real-time threat detection and adaptive defenses.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include tackling complex challenges associated with resource-intensive models, advancing methodologies for controlling, monitoring, and analyzing ML models in production, developing novel approaches to adversarial testing and robust inference, and translating research prototypes into scalable AI systems deployed in adversarial, real-world settings.
- • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure research outcomes inform production systems, conducting ML research that includes experiment design, empirical analysis, and communication of results via publications, while integrating models with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- • Gray Swan AI is a well-funded, fast-growing team of ~25 experts dedicated to AI safety, working with leading AI labs and enterprises to deploy secure AI systems; you’ll join a mission-driven culture where technical depth meets real-world impact, and your work directly influences how major AI companies deploy models today.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI safety and security by working alongside leading thinkers in the field, gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art deep learning architectures (including transformers and LLMs), and develop scalable pipelines for synthetic data generation and model validation—positioning you at the forefront of one of tech’s most critical and evolving domains.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
- • Experience in building and deploying machine learning models and systems, with demonstrated expertise in designing, training, and deploying deep learning models using frameworks like PyTorch.
- • Strong programming proficiency in Python and C++ (preferred), along with practical experience developing scalable ML pipelines and integrating them with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- • Experience conducting ML research, including building research prototypes, experiment design, empirical analysis of results, and communicating findings via publications.
- • In-depth knowledge of neural network architectures, including sequence models, transformers, and other state-of-the-art approaches, coupled with strong algorithmic problem-solving skills and comprehensive understanding of ML theory and optimization techniques.
- • Proficiency in data preprocessing, transformation, and handling large-scale, multi-modal datasets.
