Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Sentra is at the forefront of building organizational superintelligence, powered by a revolutionary memory infrastructure that excels at reasoning across time, causality, and context. We are seeking a highly innovative and driven Machine Learning Research Scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to solving fundamental challenges in knowledge representation, temporal reasoning, and semantic compression.
  • • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing sophisticated systems capable of maintaining the execution state for entire organizations. This involves consolidating millions of micro-events into durable, actionable knowledge and developing predictive models that can anticipate future events before they occur. Your work will directly shape the future of how organizations understand and leverage their own operational data.
  • • A core responsibility will be to build and refine advanced LLM-powered information extraction pipelines. These pipelines will process vast amounts of unstructured communications and text data, transforming them into structured entity-relationship representations that form the backbone of our knowledge graph.
  • • You will develop cutting-edge memory consolidation algorithms. These algorithms will be designed to validate information through multiple observations, intelligently merge duplicate entities to maintain data integrity, and efficiently prune ephemeral data to ensure the knowledge base remains relevant and performant.
  • • A significant aspect of the role involves designing novel temporal knowledge graph architectures. These architectures will model organizational execution state not as static records, but as living, continuously updated systems that reflect the dynamic nature of business operations.
  • • You will create sophisticated graph attention mechanisms and reasoning systems. These will enable complex causal queries, allowing us to understand blockers, dependencies, and predict outcome patterns within organizational processes.
  • • A key research area will be exploring lossy semantic compression using information-theoretic principles. The goal is to condense event streams into query-relevant long-term memory, optimizing for both storage efficiency and retrieval speed.
  • • You will design and implement robust entity resolution systems that can handle the complexities of identity evolution, where entities may merge, split, and transform over time.
  • • The role includes building meta-learning systems. These systems will be designed to identify recurring organizational patterns and recognize when current situations bear resemblance to historical indicators of success or failure, providing valuable predictive insights.
  • • You will contribute to the development of privacy-preserving cross-organizational learning capabilities, leveraging techniques such as federated learning and differential privacy to enable collaborative intelligence without compromising sensitive data.
  • • A crucial part of this role is to publish your research findings, contributing to the broader academic and industry communities in the fields of knowledge graphs and organizational intelligence. You will share your insights through conference papers, technical blog posts, and detailed technical documentation.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking technology with a significant impact. You will collaborate with a talented team of researchers and engineers, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI and organizational intelligence. The role requires a blend of deep theoretical understanding and practical, hands-on implementation skills, with a clear path to shipping research into production environments.
  • • You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning, NLP, and knowledge graph research, proactively identifying and integrating new techniques and methodologies into our systems. The ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate technical concepts effectively will be paramount.
  • • This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a globally distributed team. We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, providing the resources and support necessary for your professional growth and success.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience building novel systems in machine learning, NLP, knowledge graphs, or related areas, evidenced through publications, production implementations, or significant open-source contributions.
  • • Deep knowledge of knowledge graphs, graph neural networks, or temporal reasoning, demonstrated through shipped systems and architectural exploration.
  • • Strong ML and NLP foundation, particularly in information extraction, entity resolution, or semantic representation.
  • • Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch preferred) with experience deploying models at scale.
  • • Track record of publishing research (conference papers, technical blog posts, or detailed technical documentation) and exploring novel architectures.
  • • Ability to move between theoretical investigation and practical implementation, shipping research into production.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Base Salary: $150,000 - $300,000
  • • Equity: 0.3% - 2% depending on level
  • • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision
  • • Wellness & Productivity Stipend: $2,500/month to cover meals, transport, gym memberships, or other personal productivity needs
  • • Hardware & Tools: Latest MacBook Pro and AI development tools (ChatGPT Pro, Claude Pro, Cursor, etc.)
  • • Learning & Growth: Dedicated budget for conferences, courses, and professional development
  • • Relocation Support: Available for on-site hires
  • • Flexible Time Off Policy
  • • Total estimated annual benefits package: $30K - $35K in addition to base and equity.
