📋 Description

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks across Placemakr properties to ensure buildings remain safe, functional, and compliant with operational standards.
• Respond promptly to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs to maintain optimal guest and resident experiences.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
• Inspect building grounds, common areas, and units for safety hazards, wear, or damage, and initiate corrective actions immediately.
• Collaborate with on-site property teams to prioritize maintenance requests and communicate resolution timelines to residents and guests.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, labor hours, and vendor interactions in designated digital systems.
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and Placemakr’s internal safety and quality protocols.
• Handle emergency after-hours calls for critical issues such as water leaks, power outages, or heating failures, as part of a rotational on-call schedule.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when specialized services are required, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked maintenance closet with proper inventory tracking and ordering of supplies.
• Uphold Placemakr’s brand standards by ensuring all repairs and improvements reflect a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Engage respectfully and professionally with residents and guests during service visits, representing Placemakr as a trusted and reliable presence.
• Participate in biannual in-person team gatherings to align with property leadership and corporate teams on operational improvements.
• Adapt to a rotating schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage for maintenance needs.
• Support property operations beyond core maintenance duties, including light cleaning, move-in/move-out inspections, and unit readiness checks.
• Demonstrate initiative in identifying recurring issues and proposing long-term solutions to improve building performance and reduce future costs.
• Utilize digital work order systems to log, track, and close tasks efficiently, ensuring transparency and accountability in all maintenance activities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to Placemakr’s dress code and behavioral expectations while on property.
• Stay current with industry best practices and new tools or technologies that enhance maintenance efficiency and safety.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration by sharing knowledge with peers and supporting team goals across multiple properties.

🎯 Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute between property locations within Pittsburgh
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, or similar role in residential or hospitality settings
• Hands-on proficiency in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and work orders
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
