- • As a Managed Datadog Tech Lead at RapDev LLC, you will serve as a technical authority and strategic advisor for clients leveraging Datadog for observability, directly impacting system reliability, performance visibility, and operational efficiency across diverse cloud and on-premise environments. Your leadership will ensure clients achieve optimal value from their Datadog investments through expert configuration, proactive monitoring, and knowledge transfer.
- • Day to day, you will develop and maintain high-quality Datadog configurations using YAML and JSON to monitor infrastructure, applications, and logs; lead monthly business review meetings with client stakeholders to align on observability goals and performance metrics; design and deliver customized Datadog training sessions to empower client teams; build and optimize monitoring solutions for APM, logs, and infrastructure, including creating grok patterns for custom log parsing and modifying application code to send traces and subtraces; analyze and maintain existing monitoring integrations and scripts; write automation scripts in shell, Python, PowerShell, or Go to streamline configuration and alerting; design scalable, testable configuration tools and templates for repeatable client deployments; and act as the primary technical lead for RapDev’s Managed Services Datadog team, mentoring engineers and driving best practices.
- • You will join a specialized, experienced team of SREs and DevOps engineers at RapDev who are dedicated to bridging the gap between ServiceNow and Datadog ecosystems to deliver unified observability and IT operations excellence. The company focuses exclusively on modern ITOM and DevOps implementations, giving you deep exposure to complex, real-world client environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid on-premise setups, all while working from RapDev’s Boston office with a hybrid schedule (Tuesday–Thursday in-office).
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise-scale observability platforms, strengthen your client-facing technical leadership and consulting abilities, and gain advanced experience in designing and governing monitoring strategies at scale. You will have the opportunity to shape internal best practices, contribute to team growth as a technical mentor, and work with cutting-edge tools in cloud-native monitoring, logging, and tracing—positioning you for advancement into broader architecture or leadership roles within DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- • Proven experience with systems administration and Linux/Unix environments in cloud or on-premise settings
- • Demonstrated experience in managed services or client-facing technical delivery roles
- • Strong scripting and programming skills in shell, Python, PowerShell, or Go
- • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- • Willingness to work hybrid from RapDev’s Boston office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
