  • • Lambda Inc., a trailblazer in AI cloud infrastructure, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager, Financial Reporting to join our dynamic finance team. As a leader serving tens of thousands of customers, from AI researchers to large enterprises and hyperscalers, Lambda is on a mission to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and empower everyone with the power of superintelligence. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing company at the forefront of technological innovation, playing a pivotal role in our financial operations and strategic growth, including our journey towards becoming a public company.
  • • In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of our financial reporting. You will be a key player in preparing and reviewing essential financial documents, including the S-1 filing, which is crucial for our IPO readiness. This involves meticulous attention to detail in compiling financial statements, Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and footnotes, all in strict adherence to SEC regulations and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP).
  • • You will collaborate closely with various internal departments, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Legal, and Investor Relations. This cross-functional partnership is vital to ensure that our financial reporting narrative is consistent, clear, and effectively communicates our company's financial health and strategic direction to stakeholders. Your expertise will also be called upon to work alongside external auditors, valuation specialists, and legal counsel, facilitating a smooth and efficient audit process and ensuring we are fully prepared for public company reporting requirements.
  • • Beyond IPO-specific tasks, your responsibilities will extend to the preparation of regular monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. This includes managing non-GAAP reconciliations, key performance metrics, and investor-facing disclosures, ensuring all are compliant with U.S. GAAP and preparing us for future SEC reporting obligations such as 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves technical accounting and policy development. You will be responsible for drafting and maintaining comprehensive technical accounting memos that serve as authoritative guidance for our financial reporting and support our audits. Furthermore, you will play a key part in our Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) 404(a) readiness efforts, focusing on enhancing documentation and strengthening key internal controls over financial reporting. Developing and updating our accounting policies and procedures in line with U.S. GAAP will also be a core duty, ensuring our accounting practices remain robust and current.
  • • Process improvement and team development are also central to this position. You will contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies across the organization. Partnering with cross-functional teams will be essential to assess and document the accounting implications of new business initiatives and contracts, providing critical financial insights.
  • • We are looking for an individual who can drive improvements in our accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and champion automation where possible to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort. Staying abreast of new Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidance and supporting the implementation of any resulting reporting changes will be crucial. You will also provide valuable guidance and mentorship to team members on complex technical accounting topics, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  • • Finally, you will be expected to support ad-hoc and special projects that arise, contributing your financial reporting expertise to a wide range of accounting and reporting initiatives. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is eager to make a significant impact on Lambda's financial infrastructure and future success. This position requires presence in our San Jose or San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
