📋 Description

• Mechanical Engineer role focused on designing and developing mechanical systems for energy storage products at Critical Loop, a company shaping the next generation of energy systems through advanced battery control and grid modernization.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing mechanical enclosures, owning projects from concept to testing, collaborating with electrical engineers, resolving design issues early, supporting testing, managing vendors, and contributing to documentation and BOMs.
• Critical Loop builds integrated edge grid solutions for distributed energy resources, emphasizing resilience, reliability, and affordability in real-world deployments.
• The role offers end-to-end ownership of mechanical design, hands-on prototyping and field work, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to see designs deployed in operational energy systems.

🎯 Requirements

• Has owned a mechanical design end to end, from initial concept through a working deployed system
• Proficient in 3D CAD such as SolidWorks, CREO, Fusion 360, or equivalent
• Has built and tested physical prototypes and iterated based on results
• Comfortable working in the field or in a lab environment, not just behind a screen
• Makes sound engineering tradeoffs and can explain them without being asked
• Operates independently on multi-week workstreams with minimal check-ins
