- • As a Member of Technical Staff, Infrastructure (Security) at Vapi Technologies Inc., you will play a critical role in securing the foundation of a rapidly growing voice AI platform that serves over 600,000 developers globally, ensuring that enterprise-grade security practices protect sensitive data and maintain trust in voice as the default human interface.
- • You will directly contribute to building and hardening the infrastructure that powers Vapi’s multi-tenant platform, enabling secure, scalable, and resilient voice agent deployments for large enterprises with stringent data protection requirements.
- • In your first 30 days, you will conduct deep penetration testing and threat modeling exercises to uncover vulnerabilities across the platform, gaining comprehensive visibility into the current security posture and identifying high-impact areas for improvement.
- • By day 60, you will design, build, and ship a new security-focused service—such as a custom WireGuard-based solution or equivalent—to enhance network-level security, encryption, and secure service-to-service communication within the infrastructure.
- • Within 90 days, you will assume end-to-end ownership of security across the stack, encompassing Application Security (AppSec), Information Security (InfoSec), IT Security (ITSec), and Infrastructure Security (InfraSec), integrating security into the development lifecycle and establishing proactive defense mechanisms.
- • You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to embed security best practices into CI/CD pipelines, automate vulnerability scanning, and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards without sacrificing velocity or innovation.
- • You will continuously monitor, analyze, and respond to emerging threats, refining threat models and updating controls as the platform evolves, ensuring that security scales alongside Vapi’s rapid growth of 2,000+ new developers per day.
- • You will help shape a security-first culture by mentoring peers, documenting security protocols, and advocating for secure design principles in architecture reviews and technical planning sessions.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience scaling massive, resilient, and performant systems, preferably in Series B to F stage companies or high-growth tech environments.
- • Deep expertise in infrastructure security, including hands-on experience with penetration testing, threat modeling, network security (e.g., WireGuard, TLS, zero-trust architectures), and securing multi-tenant cloud platforms.
- • Strong background in Application Security (AppSec), Information Security (InfoSec), and IT Security (ITSec), with the ability to own and integrate security practices across the full stack.
- • Demonstrated ability to think in threat models rather than just features, with a proactive, attacker-minded approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
- • Bonus: Experience building or founding a startup, indicating comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and end-to-end product/security delivery.
