  • • Cologix is seeking a highly motivated and experienced MEP Construction Program Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive leadership and management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction efforts across our North American data center portfolio. You will be instrumental in overseeing all facets of MEP construction, from initial development and strategic supply chain management to meticulous project accounting and the direct, hands-on execution of construction projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our cutting-edge data center facilities and contribute significantly to Cologix's continued growth and success.
  • • As the MEP Construction Program Manager, you will be the central point of accountability for ensuring that all MEP construction activities align with Cologix's stringent standards for quality, safety, budget, and schedule adherence. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the complexities of data center construction, ensuring seamless integration of MEP systems that are critical to the operational integrity and performance of our facilities.
  • • Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing robust construction strategies for MEP systems, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and fostering strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies. You will be tasked with managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that each project progresses efficiently and effectively towards successful completion.
  • • You will play a vital role in the pre-construction phase, contributing to design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering efforts to optimize project outcomes. This includes collaborating closely with design engineers and architects to ensure that MEP designs are innovative, efficient, and meet the specific operational requirements of our data centers.
  • • During the construction phase, you will provide direct oversight, ensuring that work is performed according to approved plans, specifications, and building codes. This involves rigorous site inspections, progress monitoring, and proactive problem-solving to address any challenges that may arise. You will also be responsible for managing change orders, reviewing and approving contractor submittals, and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • • Financial stewardship is a critical component of this role. You will be responsible for developing and managing MEP construction budgets, tracking project expenditures, forecasting costs, and ensuring that projects are delivered within financial parameters. This includes meticulous review of invoices, progress payments, and final project accounting.
  • • Supply chain management for MEP components and services will also fall under your purview. You will work to establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
  • • Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices for MEP construction management, continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and innovation. This includes staying abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that impact data center construction.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as they relate to data center infrastructure, including cooling systems (CRACs, CRAHs, chillers, cooling towers), power distribution (switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs), and building management systems (BMS).
  • • You will be expected to lead and mentor construction teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. This includes providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • • This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders, including executive leadership, project teams, clients, and external partners. Your ability to clearly articulate complex technical information and project status updates will be paramount.
  • • The MEP Construction Program Manager will be a key contributor to Cologix's mission of delivering world-class data center solutions, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our critical infrastructure. Your dedication to excellence and your proactive approach to managing complex construction programs will be highly valued.
