📋 Description
- • As the Microsoft 365 Governance Administrator at PFM Asset Management, you will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our rapidly expanding Microsoft 365 environment. This pivotal role focuses on modernizing, governing, and seamlessly integrating our collaboration platforms, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform. You will be the architect of order and sustainability within our complex digital ecosystem, bringing structure and best practices to a growing tenant.
- • This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in cleaning up, rationalizing, and integrating large-scale Microsoft 365 tenants. If you thrive on bringing clarity and control to intricate environments and possess a deep understanding of how M365 ecosystems evolve, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact.
- • Your core responsibilities will encompass a wide range of governance initiatives, working collaboratively with Legal, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), Security, IT, and M&A stakeholders. You will be the go-to expert for ensuring our M365 environment adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence.
- • **Microsoft 365 Governance & Modernization:** You will lead critical governance initiatives across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform. This involves proactively assessing and remediating legacy configurations, identifying and rectifying over-permissioned content, and managing stale collaboration resources to ensure a clean and efficient environment. A key objective will be to drive tenant modernization, aligning our infrastructure with Microsoft's best practices and robust enterprise governance standards.
- • **Permissions & Access Management:** A significant part of your role will be designing and maintaining least-privilege permission models across all M365 workloads. You will develop and implement automated renewal profiles for user and group membership recertification on a recurring basis, effectively reducing risk and preventing entitlement sprawl. Close partnership with Security and GRC teams will be essential to guarantee that access controls consistently meet stringent compliance and audit expectations.
- • **Lifecycle, Retention & Records Management:** You will define and operate comprehensive lifecycle management strategies for M365 resources. This includes the systematic archiving of inactive Teams, Sites, and Groups, the decommissioning of unused or abandoned resources, and the prevention of long-term collaboration sprawl. You will implement and manage retention and records management policies in close collaboration with Legal and GRC teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Furthermore, you will support the classification of content as records where necessary and ensure defensible disposition processes are in place, applying and governing sensitivity labels to protect regulated and high-risk content.
- • **Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Enablement:** You will play a crucial role in supporting Microsoft 365 migration and integration efforts associated with M&A activities. This involves assessing incoming tenants for governance gaps, security risks, and modernization opportunities. You will execute or support the migration of SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams content into the enterprise tenant, ensuring that acquired environments are seamlessly aligned with our established governance, lifecycle, retention, and information protection standards.
- • **Automation, Reporting & Operations:** You will leverage automation tools such as AvePoint, PowerShell, Power Automate, SharePoint Advanced Management, and Microsoft Graph to streamline governance and administration tasks. A key aspect of this role involves analyzing and manipulating large governance and usage datasets to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for optimization. You will produce detailed operational and compliance-focused reports to support lifecycle decisions and provide essential visibility to leadership. Additionally, you will serve as an escalation point for complex governance and collaboration issues, providing expert resolution.
- • This is a governance-first role with significant execution responsibility, perfectly suited for an individual who understands the dynamic nature of M365 environments and excels at modernizing and integrating them without causing business disruption. Your expertise will directly contribute to the security, compliance, and operational efficiency of PFM Asset Management's digital workplace.
