📋 Description
- • As a Microsoft 365 Governance Administrator at Precision Medicine Group, you will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining the integrity, security, and efficiency of our expanding Microsoft 365 collaboration platform. This remote role, based in Spain, is crucial for modernizing and integrating our M365 environment, encompassing SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform. You will be the driving force behind establishing and enforcing robust governance policies, ensuring our digital workspace is organized, sustainable, and compliant.
- • Your primary focus will be on governance-first initiatives, coupled with strong execution responsibilities. This position is perfectly suited for an individual with a proven track record in cleaning up, rationalizing, and integrating large Microsoft 365 tenants. You will thrive in complex environments, bringing order and structure to ensure long-term sustainability and operational excellence.
- • A key aspect of your role will involve leading comprehensive governance initiatives across our core M365 workloads. This includes developing and implementing strategies for permissions management, lifecycle controls, retention and records management, and information protection. You will work collaboratively with various departments, including Legal, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), Security, IT, and M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) stakeholders, to align M365 governance with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- • You will be responsible for assessing and remediating legacy configurations, identifying and addressing over-permissioned content, and managing stale collaboration resources to maintain a clean and secure environment. Driving tenant modernization in alignment with Microsoft best practices and enterprise governance standards will be a continuous effort, ensuring our platform remains up-to-date and optimized.
- • In terms of Permissions & Access Management, you will design and maintain least-privilege permission models across all M365 workloads. This involves developing automated renewal profiles for user and group membership recertification on a recurring basis to mitigate risks and prevent entitlement sprawl. Close partnership with Security and GRC teams will be essential to guarantee that access controls meet stringent compliance and audit expectations.
- • For Lifecycle, Retention & Records Management, you will define and operate comprehensive lifecycle management processes for M365 resources. This includes the archiving of inactive Teams, Sites, and Groups, the decommissioning of unused or abandoned resources, and the prevention of long-term collaboration sprawl. You will implement and manage retention and records management policies in close collaboration with Legal and GRC teams, supporting the classification of content as records where required and ensuring defensible disposition. Furthermore, you will apply and govern sensitivity labels to protect regulated and high-risk content, enhancing our data security posture.
- • The role also involves significant Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Enablement. You will support Microsoft 365 migration and integration efforts associated with M&A activities, assessing incoming tenants for governance gaps, security risks, and modernization opportunities. Executing or supporting the migration of SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams content into the enterprise tenant will be a key responsibility, ensuring that acquired environments are aligned with our established governance, lifecycle, retention, and information protection standards.
- • In the realm of Automation, Reporting & Operations, you will leverage tools such as AvePoint, PowerShell, Power Automate, SharePoint Advanced Management, and the Microsoft Graph API to automate governance and administration tasks. You will analyze and manipulate large governance and usage data sets to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities. Producing clear, operational, and compliance-focused reports will be vital for supporting lifecycle decisions and providing leadership visibility. You will also serve as an escalation point for complex governance and collaboration issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact Precision Medicine Group's digital transformation by ensuring our Microsoft 365 environment is secure, compliant, and optimized for collaboration and productivity. You will be at the forefront of managing a critical enterprise platform, contributing directly to the company's operational efficiency and strategic goals.
