📋 Description
- • Join Heidi Health, a pioneering healthtech startup dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare with an AI Care Partner that enhances continuous and deeply human patient care. We are a passionate, multidisciplinary team of doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives united by a mission to empower clinicians by freeing up their time to focus on what matters most: their patients. In a remarkably short period, Heidi has already delivered over 18 million hours back to healthcare professionals, supporting an astounding 73 million patient visits across 116 countries. Our AI is currently powering more than two million patient visits weekly worldwide. With significant backing, including nearly $100 million in funding, we are experiencing rapid global expansion in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, forging crucial partnerships with leading health systems such as the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health.
- • As a Mid-Level AI Models Engineer on our Model Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the capabilities of our foundational AI models. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your primary mission will be to leverage your profound technical expertise to drive innovation. This involves conducting rigorous experiments, implementing state-of-the-art fine-tuning techniques like Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), and systematically enhancing the performance, safety, and efficiency of our Large Language Models (LLMs). Your contributions will directly impact the quality and reliability of the AI Care Partner, ensuring it remains a trusted and effective tool for clinicians.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass owning the entire lifecycle of model fine-tuning cycles. This means you will independently manage end-to-end fine-tuning experiments, from the meticulous curation and preparation of data, through the execution of training runs, to the comprehensive analysis of results and clear reporting. You will be a key collaborator, partnering closely with our product, medical knowledge, and design teams. Together, you will work on automating prompt engineering to elicit the best responses from our models, building sophisticated agentic AI capabilities, and developing robust model evaluation frameworks to ensure our AI meets the highest standards. You will be instrumental in building cutting-edge LLM features within the Heidi platform, utilizing the latest advancements in AI tools and frameworks. A significant part of your role will involve implementing and adapting advanced algorithms derived from cutting-edge research papers to address specific and complex product challenges. Furthermore, you will conduct deep-dive analyses into model behavior, meticulously identifying failure modes and proactively proposing data-driven or algorithmic solutions to overcome them. You will also contribute significantly to our core infrastructure, helping to build and enhance the training and experimentation infrastructure, thereby accelerating research velocity and enabling faster iteration cycles for the entire team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI in healthcare, making a tangible difference in the lives of clinicians and patients globally.
