📋 Description

• As a Mobile UI/Design Engineer at Kraken, you will own the craft layer of the React Native mobile experience, focusing on fluid, gesture-driven interactions and transitions that feel native and elevate user trust in the crypto ecosystem.
• Day to day, you will push React Native beyond its defaults using tools like Reanimated and Skia, partner with product designers to refine motion and interaction design, establish animation primitives for the design system, profile and optimize rendering performance on lower-end Android devices, and mentor engineers on interaction quality.
• You will join the Consumer Mobile team, a world-class group building the Kraken app used by millions to interact with their money, where attention to detail in feel and performance directly impacts user trust in a security-conscious industry.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in high-performance mobile UI, influence architectural decisions around state management and render cycles, and establish interaction patterns that become the quality standard across the mobile organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep, demonstrable experience building polished mobile interfaces in React Native, including proficiency with Reanimated, gesture handlers, and JS/UI thread performance profiling
• A trained eye for interaction design, with sensitivity to easing curves, spring physics, and a commitment to 60fps as a constraint, not just a target
• A portfolio or demo reel of shipped work (e.g., personal site, video walkthrough, GitHub demos, screen captures) is required to evaluate your craft
• Experience with modern AI development tooling (Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a natural part of your workflow
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
