• • As a Modern Workplace Engineer at Methods Machine Tools, Inc., you will be at the forefront of delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure services to our diverse client base, primarily within the public sector but with a growing private sector portfolio.
• • This pivotal role focuses on creating and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions that align with customer objectives and drive business growth through profitable, structured engagements.
• • You will be instrumental in the end-to-end delivery of projects, taking ownership of both the architectural design and the practical implementation of sophisticated solutions.
• • Your expertise will be crucial in translating client needs into robust, scalable, and people-centred technological frameworks.
• • You will engage directly with clients from the initial stages, articulating Methods Business and Digital Technology (BDT) capabilities and actively shaping their technical strategies and requirements.
• • A key responsibility will be to own the technical solution, ensuring it meets customer specifications by liaising proactively with internal colleagues and external partners to deliver solutions that are technically elegant, feasible, and commercially viable.
• • This involves constructing detailed cost models to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of these solutions, ensuring financial viability and client satisfaction.
• • You will proactively manage and mitigate any risks associated with solution development and implementation, ensuring smooth project execution.
• • Authorship and review of the technical elements within proposal documentation will be a significant part of your role, requiring clear and persuasive communication of technical concepts.
• • You will take the technical lead in presenting complex technical and commercial solutions to clients and stakeholders, collaborating closely with the sales team to secure new business.
• • Providing technical support during contract negotiations and development will be essential, ensuring that the technical aspects of agreements are sound and well-defined.
• • A critical function is the effective handover of the technical solution to the delivery teams, working in conjunction with Programme Managers to ensure a seamless transition from design to implementation.
• • You will actively contribute to the continuous development of Methods BDT’s technical solutions and capabilities, staying abreast of the latest industry developments and proposing innovative approaches.
• • Quality assurance of technical solutions proposed and/or implemented by Technical Architects or Engineers will be a key duty, ensuring adherence to best practices and high standards.
• • Conceptualising and designing complex, multi-site solutions, including hosted Data Centre infrastructures, will leverage your deep technical understanding.
• • You will perform vital pre-sales activities in support of the Business Development, Solution Architecture, and Sales teams, acting as a technical authority.
• • The role demands detailed design skills specific to your technology specialisation, complemented by an architecture-level appreciation of all relevant complementary technologies, fostering a holistic approach to solution design.
• • You are expected to initiate and maintain an ongoing, proactive approach, working alongside colleagues to develop and deliver service offerings based on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• • Understanding and developing opportunities within your assigned customer accounts will be crucial for fostering long-term client relationships and identifying new business avenues.
• • Maintaining a broad understanding across Microsoft technologies is essential, and you will be expected to complete ongoing training, including passing relevant exams and accreditations, to maintain and gain Methods BDT certifications.
• • You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in agreed technologies, aligning with Methods BDT’s solutions and designs, and sharing your knowledge to elevate the team.
• • Mentoring and guiding team members to build and develop their skills will be a key aspect of leadership, ensuring the team meets the evolving requirements of Methods BDT and its customers.
• • You will collaborate with the management team to build repeatable, robust policies, processes, and approaches that enable consistent and best-practice solution delivery across the organisation.
• • Providing support to Managed Services and Delivery Engineers as an SME will ensure that operational teams have access to expert technical guidance.
• • You will undertake all other duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the success of the team and the company.
