Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the primary technical security authority for Capco’s Financial Services clients, translating complex network security concepts into clear, actionable guidance that enables business leaders to make risk-informed decisions.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of network security solutions: from initial threat modeling and architecture design through hands-on implementation, rigorous testing, and seamless hand-off to operations teams.
- • Configure, tune, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and next-generation firewalls, ensuring that every rule set is optimized for both security efficacy and network performance.
- • Architect and enforce network segmentation strategies that isolate critical assets, contain lateral movement, and satisfy regulatory mandates such as PCI-DSS, FFIEC, and NYDFS.
- • Deploy and manage web-filtering technologies that block malicious content, enforce acceptable-use policies, and provide granular visibility into user behavior without degrading the user experience.
- • Leverage deep Cisco expertise (ASA, Firepower, ISE, Stealthwatch, Meraki) to integrate security controls into existing routing and switching fabrics, preserving high availability and minimizing downtime during change windows.
- • Harden endpoints and servers through centralized antivirus/antimalware policies, CIS benchmarks, and custom Group Policy Objects, reducing the exploitable attack surface across Windows, Linux, and cloud workloads.
- • Produce crisp, audit-ready documentation—architecture diagrams, runbooks, change tickets, and executive summaries—that empowers both technical engineers and C-suite stakeholders to understand “what was done” and “why it matters.”
- • Lead technical Q&A sessions with client architects, SOC analysts, and third-party auditors, distilling complex packet captures or firewall logs into concise narratives that drive remediation priorities.
- • Continuously monitor security telemetry (SIEM, NetFlow, PCAP) to identify anomalies, tune detection rules, and recommend proactive improvements that outpace emerging threats.
- • Collaborate with Capco’s broader cybersecurity, cloud, and digital transformation teams to ensure that network security controls align with zero-trust roadmaps, DevSecOps pipelines, and regulatory change initiatives.
- • Mentor junior consultants and client staff through knowledge-transfer workshops, lunch-and-learns, and pair troubleshooting sessions, fostering a culture of security-first thinking long after the engagement ends.
- • Contribute to Capco’s intellectual capital by capturing lessons learned, publishing whitepapers, and refining methodologies that will be reused across multiple Financial Services engagements.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting IDS/IPS, next-generation firewalls, and network segmentation in enterprise environments.
- • Expert-level proficiency with Cisco security portfolio (ASA, Firepower, ISE, Stealthwatch) and a proven record of integrating these tools into complex, highly regulated networks.
- • Demonstrated ability to author clear, concise technical documentation (architecture diagrams, runbooks, change records) that satisfies both engineering teams and external auditors.
- • Strong verbal communication skills with prior client-facing or consulting experience; able to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- • Familiarity with Financial Services compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, FFIEC, NYDFS, SOX) and a track record of implementing controls that meet or exceed these standards.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive 6-month contract rate of $85–$94 per hour with high likelihood of extension based on performance and project demand.
- • Hybrid flexibility—3 days onsite, 2 days remote—giving you the balance of collaboration and focused work-from-home time.
- • Access to Capco’s global network of cybersecurity thought leaders, training resources, and cutting-edge Financial Services case studies to accelerate your professional growth.
- • Eligibility for 401(k) plan, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, and tuition reimbursement even as a contractor, setting you up for long-term success.
