- • The Networking Technical Engineer is an integral member of a team responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of technical solutions, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of infrastructure, systems, networks, applications, and integrations.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing technical solutions; collaborating with stakeholders across IT, product, analytics, and business teams; monitoring work against production schedules; documenting technical processes; participating in technical reviews; performing technical analysis to support decision-making; and staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- • The team at Highmark Health focuses on building and optimizing a robust technical ecosystem that supports healthcare innovation, working closely with cross-functional engineers and analysts to ensure quality, integrity, and performance across infrastructure and network initiatives.
- • In this role, the engineer will deepen expertise in advanced networking technologies including BGP, OSPF/EIGRP, EVPN/VXLAN, SD-WAN, enterprise WLAN, network security (firewalls, Zero Trust, SASE), cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP), and automation (Ansible, Terraform, Python), while contributing to fault-tolerant, scalable solutions in a dynamic, innovative environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- • 3 years of experience in analyzing, designing, coding, testing, implementing technical solutions, and providing production support
- • 3 years of technical problem solving, solution implementation, and team/project collaboration
- • 3 years of foundational computer science concepts, operating systems, and scripting/languages
- • Preferred: 5 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), defining system architectures, and working in healthcare technology environments
- • Preferred: Proficiency in network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Itential, Nornir), Python scripting (Netmiko, NAPALM), REST APIs, and Source of Truth systems (NetBox, ServiceNow CMDB)
