Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Perform health checks on customer implementations of PostHog prior to their first billing cycle using internal usage data to identify gaps in adoption or configuration.
- • Proactively reach out to technical customers at the start of their PostHog journey to ensure proper setup, maximize product value, and drive early success.
- • Educate customers on underutilized PostHog features including product analytics, session replay, feature flags, and data warehousing to align usage with their business goals.
- • Guide customers through complex technical implementations involving SDKs, data pipelines, and integrations into their existing tech stack.
- • Build, refine, and maintain internal tools and processes to scale onboarding efficiency and improve customer outcomes.
- • Write and execute SQL queries to analyze customer usage patterns, track onboarding success metrics, and inform team strategy.
- • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams to identify high-potential customers who require deeper engagement and hand off accounts for continued partnership.
- • Own the definition of an "excellent onboarding" experience at PostHog, shaping workflows, documentation, and tooling from the ground up.
- • Help customers optimize their spending by identifying inefficient or unnecessary usage patterns, reducing costs while preserving value.
- • Work in a fully async, remote-first environment with Tuesdays and Thursdays designated as meeting-free days to prioritize deep work and product building.
- • Operate with high autonomy, choosing initiatives based on customer impact and personal motivation, without top-down task assignment.
- • Contribute to a transparent company culture by accessing internal revenue data, board notes, and product roadmaps to make informed decisions.
- • Engage with a team of highly technical users who expect expert-level guidance, not sales pitches, and respond best to trust, clarity, and technical credibility.
- • Participate in a culture that values shipping fast, being weird, and solving big problems through small, autonomous teams that own products end-to-end.
- • Work within a globally distributed team spanning GMT-8 to GMT+2 timezones, requiring strong async communication skills and alignment with remote-first norms.
- • Contribute to a product-led growth model where over 100,000 companies self-serve into PostHog, making your role critical in converting free users into successful paid customers.
🎯 Requirements
- • Technical depth: You have a technical background or experience working closely with engineers and understand SDKs, data pipelines, and software stack integrations.
- • Strong customer focus: You enjoy communicating with users, translating technical concepts into clear guidance, and are passionate about helping them achieve success.
- • Commercially-minded: You think beyond problem-solving to drive product adoption, retention, and long-term customer value.
- • Process and tool improvement: You care about refining workflows, maintaining work hygiene, and building systems that scale.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote work with a globally distributed team spanning GMT-8 to GMT+2 timezones.
- • Access to transparent company data including revenue, board notes, fundraising plans, and compensation formulas.
- • Meeting-free Tuesdays and Thursdays to prioritize deep, focused work.
- • Autonomy to choose what to work on based on impact and personal motivation.
- • Opportunity to shape the onboarding function from inception and influence product direction.
- • Competitive compensation with publicly documented calculator and equity structure.

About PostHog Inc.
PostHog provides an open-source product analytics platform that lets teams track user behavior, run A/B tests, and gather feedback without sending data to third parties. The self-hosted or cloud service captures events, pageviews, feature flags, and session recordings, then surfaces insights through dashboards, funnels, retention, and cohort analysis. Engineers can instrument code once and non-technical teammates can query results using SQL or visual builders. The company maintains the core project under an MIT license and offers paid tiers for enterprise support, higher volumes, and advanced features such as correlation analysis, data pipelines, and team collaboration tools.
