- • As the Operations Market Lead for Europe South at roadsurfer, you will be a pivotal member of the Market Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Head of Maintenance & Repair (M&R) and collaborating closely with the Head of Market (Station Operations). Your primary responsibility will be to steer and optimize all Maintenance & Repair operations across the Europe South region, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and vehicle availability. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational excellence of our rapidly growing campervan fleet and supporting our mission to enable unforgettable adventures for our customers.
- • You will take full ownership of the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budget for the Europe South market. This involves meticulous planning, forecasting, and management to ensure all repair activities are conducted in a cost-efficient manner without compromising on quality. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive repair strategy that aligns with operational priorities and market demands. This includes optimizing the workshop network, managing spare parts inventory effectively, and ensuring that all repair processes adhere to roadsurfer's high standards.
- • A core aspect of your role will be to define and refine repair strategies for each vehicle type based on detailed damage reports and the dynamic operational needs of the business. This requires a deep understanding of vehicle mechanics, common repair issues, and the ability to prioritize repairs to maximize fleet uptime. You will work closely with technicians and workshop managers to ensure that repairs are carried out promptly, correctly, and cost-effectively.
- • Maintaining high vehicle availability is paramount. You will achieve this by expertly coordinating workshop capacity, optimizing scheduling for both internal and external repair partners, and ensuring a seamless flow of necessary spare parts. This proactive approach to fleet management will minimize downtime and ensure that our campers are ready for our customers when they need them, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
- • You will be instrumental in building and optimizing our network of internal and external workshops. This involves identifying, vetting, and managing relationships with repair partners to improve turnaround times, reduce costs, and ensure consistent quality of work across the region. Your efforts in network optimization will directly impact our operational efficiency and scalability.
- • Leading and developing the station repair teams is a key leadership responsibility. You will mentor, guide, and empower technicians and Damage Control Managers to achieve consistent performance, enhance their technical capabilities, and improve damage detection rates. Ensuring accurate spare parts inventory management at each station will also fall under your purview, preventing delays and unnecessary costs.
- • You will be responsible for tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to repair costs, repair times, and damage detection accuracy. By diligently monitoring these metrics, you will identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the M&R operations in Europe South.
- • This role requires a hands-on approach, with regular travel to internal stations and external vendor locations within the market to oversee operations, build relationships, and ensure adherence to standards. Your leadership will be critical in fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment, ensuring that the Europe South M&R operations are a benchmark for efficiency and quality within the roadsurfer network.
- • Ultimately, your mission is to ensure our fleet is not only well-maintained and readily available but also repaired to the highest standards, all while managing costs effectively. You will be a key driver in maintaining the operational backbone that allows roadsurfer to deliver exceptional experiences to our customers across Europe South, embodying the #happyroadsurfing lifestyle through seamless operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Degree or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a similar technical field, providing a strong foundational understanding of vehicle mechanics and repair.
- • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in fleet maintenance, repair operations, or workshop management, demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry and its challenges.
- • At least 3 years of direct people management experience, preferably within a technical and operational setting, showcasing proven leadership and team development capabilities.
- • Strong analytical and budgeting skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage costs effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and leadership.
