  • • As a key member of the OpenAI Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in scaling the Order Management and Billing Operations function, ensuring the organization's long-term financial health and operational efficiency as we pursue our ambitious mission.
  • • You will be responsible for the end-to-end operation of the order-to-invoice lifecycle, meticulously ensuring that contract, provisioning, and pricing data are accurately and seamlessly integrated across our systems to generate timely, precise, and audit-ready billing statements.
  • • This role demands a strategic and hands-on approach, blending operational execution with sophisticated process design, robust cross-functional collaboration, and continuous system optimization, all critical for supporting OpenAI's rapid growth and expanding global operations.
  • • You will be instrumental in defining and executing our operating model, fostering strong partnerships with Revenue Systems, Engineering, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, and building the essential operational backbone required for OpenAI's next phase of scale and evolution.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves embedding cutting-edge AI and automation directly into our Order Management and Billing workflows. The goal is to dramatically reduce rework, eliminate manual interventions, and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies before they can impact billing accuracy or revenue recognition.
  • • You will own the complete operational readiness for all new monetization launches. This includes rigorous testing, thorough reconciliation processes, ensuring invoicing integrity, executing a smooth go-live, and providing dedicated post-launch hypercare to address any emergent issues.
  • • You will be tasked with scaling our operations effectively through Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and offshore teams. This involves designing efficient workflows, developing comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), creating effective training enablement programs, and implementing stringent quality controls to guarantee consistent and accurate execution across all Order Management and Billing processes.
  • • You will collaborate closely with Revenue Systems, Product, Engineering, GTM, Legal, and Deal Desk teams. This cross-functional partnership is vital to ensure that quoting, configuration, provisioning, billing, and ERP systems remain aligned and seamlessly integrated, especially as new products and innovative pricing models are introduced.
  • • A core responsibility is to build and rigorously enforce robust internal controls and segregation of duties. This ensures that all documentation, approvals, reconciliations, and exception handling processes are clear, repeatable, and consistently audit-ready, maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
  • • You will be responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of data during the critical month-end close process. This involves validating that all order, pricing, billing, and usage information is fully captured and reconciled before it flows into our revenue systems, safeguarding financial integrity.
  • • You will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop performance dashboards to meticulously measure billing accuracy, operational cycle times, automation rates, customer escalations, and overall operational throughput. These metrics will guide strategic decision-making and prioritization efforts.
  • • You will develop and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, including SOPs, playbooks, runbooks, and training pathways. This documentation is essential for supporting consistent execution, facilitating team scalability, and ensuring knowledge transfer.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of financial operations within a groundbreaking AI company, directly contributing to the infrastructure that supports world-changing technology and its responsible deployment.
  • • You will be a critical enabler of OpenAI's mission by ensuring the financial systems and processes can keep pace with rapid innovation and growth, providing the reliable foundation necessary for continued success and impact.
  • • By optimizing and automating key financial processes, you will free up valuable resources, allowing teams to focus on strategic initiatives and further innovation.
  • • Your work will directly influence the accuracy and efficiency of our revenue streams, contributing to the financial stability and sustainability of OpenAI's long-term vision.
  • • You will gain invaluable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, working with some of the brightest minds in AI and finance, and contributing to a company that is shaping the future of humanity.
