📋 Description
- • As a strategic and hands-on leader within the Order to Cash (OTC) organization, you will spearhead the Order Management and Billing Operations function, driving its growth and operational excellence.
- • This pivotal role is responsible for architecting and executing the entire order-to-invoice lifecycle, ensuring that all contract, provisioning, and pricing data are seamlessly integrated across our systems to generate billing that is not only accurate and timely but also fully audit-ready.
- • You will be instrumental in shaping our operational strategy, fostering robust partnerships with Revenue Systems, Engineering, and Go-to-Market (GTM) teams, and building the essential operational infrastructure that will underpin OpenAI's next phase of expansion and innovation.
- • This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership position that requires a unique blend of operational execution, strategic process design, extensive cross-functional collaboration, and sophisticated system optimization – all critical components for scaling our OTC function to support rapid growth and complex global operations.
- • You will oversee the complete order-to-invoice lifecycle, meticulously establishing the necessary systems, robust controls, and efficient workflows to guarantee accurate, timely, and audit-ready billing at scale.
- • A key aspect of this role involves embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation directly into our Order Management and Billing workflows. This strategic initiative aims to significantly reduce rework, eliminate manual interventions, and proactively identify discrepancies before they can impact billing or revenue.
- • You will cultivate strong cross-functional partnerships with Revenue Systems, Product, Engineering, GTM, Legal, and Deal Desk teams. This collaboration is vital to ensure that quoting, configuration, provisioning, billing, and ERP systems remain aligned and integrated, especially as new products and innovative pricing models are introduced.
- • You will be responsible for building and rigorously enforcing controls and segregation of duties. This includes ensuring that all documentation, approvals, reconciliations, and exception handling processes are clear, consistently repeatable, and fully prepared for audit scrutiny.
- • You will represent the Order to Cash function in all system implementations and enhancement projects. This involves defining precise requirements, validating intricate data flows, and ensuring that new system capabilities effectively support both immediate operational needs and long-term scalability goals.
- • A critical responsibility is ensuring the completeness and accuracy of data throughout the month-end close process. This entails meticulously validating that all order, pricing, billing, and usage information is fully captured and reconciled before it is integrated into our revenue systems.
- • You will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop comprehensive performance dashboards. These tools will measure critical metrics such as billing accuracy, cycle times, automation rates, customer escalations, and overall operational throughput, providing essential data to guide decision-making and prioritize initiatives.
- • You will develop and maintain essential operational documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), playbooks, runbooks, and training pathways, to ensure consistent execution and facilitate scalability across the team.
- • You will build and lead a high-performing team, fostering an environment of clear role definition, providing mentorship and talent development, establishing effective accountability mechanisms, and cultivating a culture of ownership, transparency, and relentless continuous improvement.
- • This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and operates under a hybrid work model requiring 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is available for new employees.
