- • Serve as a part-time Medical Expert contributing at least one day per week to Sonio’s AI development team focused on prenatal anomaly detection.
- • Provide clinical expertise grounded in real-world US prenatal care practices to guide the design, validation, and refinement of AI algorithms for fetal medicine.
- • Participate actively in weekly team rituals and collaborate directly with engineers, data scientists, and product teams — not as an external advisor, but as an integrated member of the product development cycle.
- • Review and validate AI-generated fetal scan interpretations to ensure clinical accuracy and alignment with US standards of care.
- • Contribute insights from your active clinical practice, including experience in private practice and remote reading environments, to improve the usability and reliability of Sonio’s software.
- • Help identify gaps in current prenatal screening protocols and translate clinical pain points into actionable product requirements for AI model training and refinement.
- • Advise on the integration of Sonio’s tools into existing obstetric workflows, ensuring compatibility with US healthcare systems and regulatory expectations.
- • Share experience with software adoption in clinical settings, including prior use or implementation of AI-based diagnostic tools in prenatal care.
- • Collaborate with the team to define clinical benchmarks, ground truth datasets, and performance metrics for AI model evaluation.
- • Maintain your active clinical practice while contributing to Sonio’s mission of reducing diagnostic errors and improving access to high-quality prenatal care through technology.
- • Engage in ongoing feedback loops with the product team to ensure the AI tool remains clinically relevant, safe, and aligned with evolving standards in maternal-fetal medicine.
- • Represent Sonio’s commitment to ethical AI in prenatal diagnostics by ensuring all recommendations prioritize patient safety, equity, and evidence-based practice.
- • Assist in the creation of educational materials or clinical guidelines to support end-user adoption among obstetricians and perinatologists.
- • Stay current with advancements in fetal imaging, prenatal screening, and AI applications in medicine to inform continuous product improvement.
- • Contribute to internal reviews of case studies, edge cases, and diagnostic discrepancies to enhance model robustness across diverse patient populations.
- • Work within Sonio’s fast-paced, transparent development environment with a goal of completing the hiring process within one month of initial contact.
🎯 Requirements
- • MD with MFM board certification
- • US-based with active clinical practice and deep understanding of the US prenatal healthcare landscape
- • Experience in private practice and/or remote reading of prenatal scans
- • Prior experience using or implementing AI-based software in a clinical setting
- • Strong preference for FACOG or FAIUM certification
- • Experience as a clinical advisor to a software or AI product team
