• The Open Home Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Partnership Manager to join our expanding partnerships team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in cultivating and managing a diverse range of commercial and non-commercial partnerships, encompassing collaborations with corporations, non-profit organizations, standards alliances, and public sector entities. You will play a crucial role in advancing the mission of the Open Home Foundation by fostering strategic alliances that support our core projects, most notably Home Assistant, the world's leading open-source smart home platform.
• Home Assistant empowers over two million users globally, providing them with unparalleled control and customization over their smart homes. To ensure these users receive the most seamless and integrated experience, it is essential to build and maintain robust relationships with key players in the smart home industry and beyond. As a Partnership Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing and nurturing these vital strategic partnerships, driving mutual growth and innovation.
• Your responsibilities will extend to managing our existing partner portfolio, serving as the primary point of contact for all partner inquiries, and expertly handling incoming requests from prospective partners. This role involves a degree of international travel to foster these relationships and explore new opportunities. A significant aspect of your work will involve proactively identifying and engaging with influential companies within the smart home ecosystem to forge new, impactful collaborations.
• A tangible example of the commercial partnerships you will oversee is the 'Works With Home Assistant' program. This initiative is designed to simplify the smart home experience for users by enabling them to easily identify products that have been rigorously tested and certified for optimal compatibility with Home Assistant. The 'Works With Home Assistant' badge serves as a trusted mark of quality and integration, enhancing user confidence and product adoption.
• You will be tasked with building strong, collaborative relationships with our partners, working diligently to achieve shared objectives and drive mutual success. This includes collaborating closely with the current Partnership Manager to strategically scale the 'Works With Home Assistant' program into new geographical regions, expanding its reach and impact.
• Acting as the dedicated liaison for both current partners and potential new collaborators, you will ensure clear communication channels and provide exceptional support. A key part of your role will be to develop compelling partnership proposals and sophisticated strategies tailored to effectively approach and engage potential partners, articulating the value proposition of collaborating with the Open Home Foundation.
• You will proactively identify new partnership opportunities through a combination of diligent follow-up on inbound leads and strategic outbound cold outreach to key industry players. A critical element of this process involves meticulously assessing the alignment of potential partners with the Open Home Foundation's overarching organizational goals, values, and mission, ensuring that all collaborations are synergistic and contribute to our long-term vision.
• Cultivating and maintaining robust, long-term relationships with our existing partner network will be paramount. This involves regular engagement, understanding their evolving needs, and identifying opportunities for deeper collaboration. You will also play a vital role in facilitating seamless communication and fostering effective collaboration between our partners and the broader Home Assistant community, ensuring a cohesive and supportive ecosystem.
• Managing the end-to-end operational aspects of partnership management is a core responsibility. This includes the meticulous finalization of agreements and contracts, ensuring that all agreed-upon terms and conditions are consistently upheld throughout the duration of each partnership, and proactively addressing any issues that may arise to maintain strong and productive relationships.
• This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a leading open-source project and to shape the future of smart home technology by fostering strategic alliances that promote privacy, choice, and sustainability. 🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in partnership management, relationship management, business development, account management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of the open-source community, its ethos, and underlying values.
• Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to identify, evaluate, and develop strategic business opportunities.
• A solid track record of successfully negotiating and closing partnership agreements.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport and foster strong professional relationships.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Proficient organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Willingness and availability to travel internationally as required for partnership development and management.
