• • DaVita Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our innovative Home Hemodialysis (HHD) program. This pivotal role is designed for individuals passionate about empowering patients to manage their kidney disease with greater independence and a higher quality of life, right from the comfort of their own homes.
• • As a PCT in the HHD program, you will be instrumental in training patients on the intricacies of performing hemodialysis at home. This involves providing comprehensive, hands-on instruction and support under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring patients feel confident and capable in managing their own treatment.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to the meticulous preparation and maintenance of all necessary dialysis equipment. This includes ensuring that machines are clean, functional, and ready for patient use, adhering to strict safety and operational protocols.
• • A critical aspect of your role will be the close monitoring of patients during their dialysis treatments. You will be responsible for accurately recording vital signs, observing for any adverse reactions or complications, and documenting patient responses to treatment, reporting any significant changes to the RN.
• • Beyond direct patient training and monitoring, you will play a key role in the ongoing support of HHD patients. This includes assisting with follow-up care coordination, diligently tracking and managing the supply needs for each patient's home dialysis setup, and conducting regular telehealth check-ins to ensure their well-being and treatment adherence.
• • You will serve as a vital source of both technical and emotional support for patients and their families throughout the entire HHD training process and beyond. This involves addressing technical questions, troubleshooting equipment issues, and providing empathetic encouragement to help them navigate the challenges of home dialysis.
