- • The Payment Platform DevOps Engineer enables the secure, scalable delivery of SouthState Bank’s payment platform software development lifecycle, supporting both traditional development and emerging AI-driven payment initiatives.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining Terraform Infrastructure as Code for Azure environments, owning the M365 Copilot Studio agent lifecycle, operating Power Platform ALM, building GitHub-native CI/CD pipelines, hardening Azure platform services for payments, driving observability and incident response, partnering with AI engineers on Azure OpenAI workloads, and mentoring developers on DevOps practices and compliance standards.
- • The role operates within SouthState Bank’s technology organization, collaborating closely with internal developers, platform engineers, and cloud services engineers to accelerate innovation while reducing risk and operational cost in payment operations.
- • The engineer will deepen expertise in cloud infrastructure, AI integration, and financial technology compliance, achieving mastery in Infrastructure as Code, Power Platform governance, and secure Azure services while contributing to the bank’s mission of combining personal relationships with forward-thinking financial solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 5+ years of equivalent experience
- • 7+ years in DevOps, platform, or cloud engineering, including 3+ years on Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as Code
- • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Power Platform Developer/Solution Architect; HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate; GitHub Actions or GitHub Advanced Security (one or more preferred)
- • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform — reusable modules, remote state, policy-as-code (Sentinel, OPA, Azure Policy), and Azure Verified Modules
- • Microsoft Azure breadth: AKS, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Front Door, Application Gateway, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure OpenAI
- • GitHub platform: Actions (reusable and matrix workflows, OIDC), Advanced Security, Dependabot, Codespaces, GitHub Copilot, and environment policies
