- • Accurately post insurance and patient payments in alignment with company policy and regulatory standards, ensuring precision and timeliness in all financial transactions.
- • Resolve daily auto-posted ERA errors to prevent downstream reconciliation issues and maintain clean patient ledgers.
- • Import and upload payment files from clearinghouses and payer websites, ensuring all batches are processed promptly and without error.
- • Manually post payments received via bank lockbox deposits, facility deposits, and RTA checks with strict attention to detail.
- • Perform adjustments, billing corrections, auditing, and account analysis to ensure accuracy in patient financial records.
- • Support month-end reconciliation and closing processes by verifying all payments, adjustments, and recoupments are recorded prior to finalization.
- • Process payment batches and collaborate with billing staff to identify and correct posting discrepancies in real time.
- • Handle remote bank deposits and manually post cash receipts from local bank deposits, maintaining strict adherence to deadlines and accuracy standards.
- • Work with the Client Relations Manager to research and resolve payment discrepancies, with a focus on increasing electronic payment adoption.
- • Provide Accounts Receivable (AR) support by researching and following up on outstanding insurance claims.
- • Prepare and submit corrected or appealed claims with complete supporting documentation as needed.
- • Assist in resolving billing issues and recommend adjustments or write-offs to management based on policy and regulatory guidelines.
- • Contribute to revenue cycle integrity by supporting claim resubmissions, appeals, and patient balance review processes.
- • Maintain high standards of organizational efficiency while managing multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- • Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and resolve financial discrepancies effectively.
- • Interpret complex instructions and apply them accurately across varied payment scenarios and payer requirements.
- • Ensure compliance with medical billing regulations, payer policies, and industry-standard medical terminology in all posting and reconciliation activities.
- • Maintain proficiency in ten-key entry with consistent speed and accuracy to support high-volume payment processing.
- • Operate effectively within Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer to complete daily responsibilities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Knowledge of payment posting processes, including adjustments, write-offs, and refunds
- • Familiarity with medical billing, payer policies, insurance laws, and medical terminology
- • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer
- • Ten-key proficiency with speed and accuracy
- • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- • Prior medical billing/AR experience preferred
