📋 Description

  • • As a Payment Risk Operations Lead at Adyen, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding our global payment ecosystem. This pivotal role involves leading a dedicated team of Payment Risk Operations Analysts, ensuring the integrity of our payment processing by maintaining rigorous oversight of card scheme monitoring and the registration of high-risk entities. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting Adyen's strategic business growth while meticulously adhering to stringent compliance goals. You will act as a central point of collaboration, working hand-in-hand with diverse global teams including Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Compliance, Partnerships, and Product. This cross-functional synergy is essential for mitigating non-compliance losses for both Adyen and our valued clients, thereby protecting our reputation and financial stability.
  • • Your leadership will extend to defining and clearly communicating team objectives and success metrics. You will be responsible for tracking team progress, analyzing performance, and presenting comprehensive results and insightful reporting to senior leadership. This ensures transparency and accountability across the department and demonstrates the impact of the Payment Risk Operations team.
  • • A key aspect of this role is influencing the broader payments and scheme rules landscape. By leveraging deep insights derived from our extensive merchant base, you will contribute to shaping industry standards and best practices. This involves the ability to negotiate effectively with our payment partners and foster collaborative relationships to achieve mutual compliance and operational excellence.
  • • You will operate in close alignment with our product and partnership teams, playing an instrumental role in sustainably driving our business objectives forward in dynamic global markets. This requires a proactive approach to understanding market trends and adapting our operations accordingly.
  • • Engaging directly with our payment method partners is a critical function, where you will resolve complex issues and collaborate on key compliance topics. Furthermore, you will communicate proactively with our strategic Adyen merchants and partners to drive adherence to compliance standards, ensuring a smooth and secure payment experience for all parties involved.
  • • A significant part of your mandate will be to lead and drive continuous improvements in operational processes. Your focus will be on enhancing the productivity, efficiency, and overall efficacy of the Payment Risk Operations team, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
  • • You will also be instrumental in talent acquisition, recruiting skilled individuals who can significantly contribute to both Adyen’s and our merchants’ growth. Beyond recruitment, you will actively coach and mentor team members, developing their expertise in compliance monitoring, non-compliance investigations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • • As a leader, you will embody and promote the Adyen Formula, our unique approach to business and team dynamics, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and ambition. This includes being an ambassador for Adyen's values and contributing to a positive and high-performing work environment.
  • • This role is inherently strategic, involving participation in key company initiatives that shape the future direction of the team and prepare Adyen for anticipated growth and evolving market changes. Your insights and leadership will directly impact Adyen's ability to scale and adapt in the fast-paced fintech industry.
  • • You will be the go-to expert for scheme rules and compliance, acting as a primary source of knowledge for the team and the wider organization. This includes driving global initiatives related to integrity risk, data security, and operational risk, ensuring Adyen remains at the cutting edge of payment compliance.
  • • The role demands a proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to anticipate potential risks and develop preemptive strategies. You will be responsible for identifying emerging threats and developing robust response mechanisms to protect Adyen and its clients from financial and reputational damage.
  • • Ultimately, you will contribute to Adyen's mission of enabling businesses worldwide to achieve their ambitions by providing a secure, reliable, and compliant payment infrastructure. Your leadership in Payment Risk Operations is fundamental to this mission, ensuring trust and confidence in Adyen's services.
