Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Wachter Technology Solutions—a company that puts people first—and become the technical backbone of our Physical Security practice. As our Physical Security Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of design, deployment, and support, ensuring that every access badge, camera, and intrusion sensor works flawlessly for Fortune-1000 campuses, critical-infrastructure sites, and high-security facilities across the nation.
- • Own the full technical lifecycle of complex security projects. You will translate high-level, pre-sales designs into bullet-proof, low-level implementation plans, then shepherd those plans through installation, commissioning, and long-term service. Your desk runbooks will become the gold standard that project managers and field technicians rely on to deliver consistent, repeatable success.
- • Configure and validate enterprise-grade systems including Milestone, Avigilon, S2 Security, Brivo, Eagle Eye, Lenel, Axis, Genetec, and DMP. Whether the environment is a single-building medical center or a multi-site logistics hub, you will tune cameras for optimal coverage, map card readers to precise door schedules, and integrate SIP intercoms so that security teams can respond in real time.
- • Troubleshoot and repair advanced technologies both on-site and remotely. When a camera drops offline at 2 a.m. or an access-control panel locks out an entire shift, you will be the calm voice on the phone or the boots on the ground who restores operations. You will use packet captures, multimeters, and vendor-specific diagnostic tools to isolate faults and document fixes for future reference.
- • Provide tier-two escalation support to our nationwide team of technicians. You will mentor junior engineers, host lunch-and-learns on new firmware releases, and maintain a living knowledge base of lessons learned. Your ability to explain subnetting to a field tech in the morning and then present ROI metrics to a CISO in the afternoon will set you apart.
- • Commission new installations that are not routed through the project desk, ensuring every device is labeled, tested, and documented before hand-off. You will create as-built drawings, update CAD floor plans, and export configuration backups so that future service calls are measured in minutes, not hours.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—sales, project management, procurement, and customer IT—to balance security objectives with budget realities. You will flag scope creep early, propose value-engineered alternatives, and keep stakeholders informed through concise status reports and dashboards.
- • Maintain rigorous attention to detail. Cable counts, voltage-drop calculations, firmware revision matrices, and user-permission audits are second nature to you. You understand that in physical security, a single mis-typed IP address can create a blind spot that adversaries will exploit.
- • Embrace continuous learning. Wachter invests in manufacturer certifications, lab gear, and conference attendance so you can stay ahead of AI-driven analytics, cloud-managed panels, and zero-trust architectures. Your curiosity will shape the next generation of services we offer.
- • Enjoy long-term employment with competitive pay and exceptional benefits. We value relationships and invest in our employees, celebrating milestones and promoting from within. Chart your career path—from Engineer II to Senior Architect to Practice Lead—while working on projects that protect people, property, and data every single day.
