📋 Description

• As a Platform Engineer II at Teamworks Technologies, you will play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the AWS GovCloud infrastructure that powers mission-critical operations for over 6,500 sports organizations, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability in high-stakes environments where uptime and compliance are non-negotiable.
• You will own the day-to-day operations of complex cloud infrastructure, including managing EKS clusters, EC2 instances, RDS/Aurora databases, ElastiCache, S3 storage, and IAM policies, while driving improvements in system observability and stability through proactive monitoring and incident response using Datadog.
• Your responsibilities will span managing feature deployments across both commercial and GovCloud environments, coordinating with application teams via structured intake processes to ensure smooth, compliant releases that align with organizational standards for performance and security.
• You will build and maintain reusable infrastructure-as-code assets, including Terraform modules, Helm charts, and GitLab CI/CD pipeline templates, enforcing best practices for scalability, compliance, and observability across all platform services.
• A key part of your role will involve diagnosing and resolving cross-cutting infrastructure issues—such as networking misconfigurations, IAM permission boundary errors, and Kubernetes scheduling failures—by assessing blast radius and downstream impact before implementing solutions that minimize disruption.
• You will partner closely with application teams to communicate platform changes, deprecations, and new standards in clear, actionable ways, reducing friction and enabling teams to adopt improvements quickly and confidently.
• Participation in an on-call rotation will require you to take full production ownership of the systems you support, responding to incidents with urgency and precision while contributing to post-incident reviews that drive long-term resilience.
• The Platform Engineering team at Teamworks serves as a foundational enabler for application teams across the organization, providing the reliable, secure, and scalable platform that allows product teams to innovate and deliver value to sports organizations at scale.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in regulated cloud environments, particularly AWS GovCloud and FedRAMP-compliant architectures, while advancing your skills in modern platform engineering practices including Kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab CI, and observability-driven operations.

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering with a focus on production systems
• Strong proficiency in Linux administration, particularly RHEL-based systems, in enterprise production environments
• Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or comparable tools
• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS, including core services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and networking components
• Strong consultative and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical platform changes into clear, actionable guidance for non-platform teams
