📋 Description

• As a Platform Engineer III at R1 RCM Inc., you will play a critical role in maintaining and advancing the cloud infrastructure that powers the company’s technology-driven healthcare solutions, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability for applications serving hospitals and health systems.
• Day to day, you will design and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, provision infrastructure via Terraform, operate GitOps pipelines with ArgoCD, monitor observability tools, participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, lead incident response, and collaborate with application teams to optimize performance and reduce toil through automation.
• You will join the Platform Engineering team, which owns the foundational cloud platform supporting R1’s modern applications — including AKS, identity, Terraform-managed Azure infrastructure, observability, databases, and incident response — within a regulated enterprise environment focused on healthcare technology innovation.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Azure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and cloud-native observability while driving operational excellence, improving system reliability, and contributing to secure, scalable platforms that directly impact patient care and financial performance in healthcare.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience architecting and operating workloads on Microsoft Azure across compute, networking, identity, storage, and security services
• 3+ years of production experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) including workload design, ingress, autoscaling, RBAC, and troubleshooting
• Strong Terraform skills including module authoring, remote state, drift management, and CI-integrated plan/apply workflows
• Production experience with ArgoCD or comparable GitOps tooling for application deployment and multi-cluster management
• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions for source control, CI/CD, branching strategies, and pipeline governance
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Bash and Python (PowerShell and Azure CLI beneficial)
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex production issues across application, container, cluster, network, and cloud layers and drive root cause analysis to closure
• Willingness and ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond promptly to high-severity incidents
