• • Thaloz is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This pivotal role is centered around driving the evolution, scalability, and reliability of a large-scale debit card platform within the Consumer Financial Services sector. As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be instrumental in shaping mission-critical, high-availability systems that are designed to handle significant transaction volumes and deliver substantial customer impact. This is a hands-on position where your expertise in both backend and frontend technologies will be crucial in building robust and efficient solutions.
• • Your primary responsibilities will involve the end-to-end development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation and deployment. You will be tasked with designing and implementing highly scalable backend services, leveraging your deep knowledge of Java and NodeJS. This includes developing microservices, APIs, and other server-side logic that forms the backbone of our debit card platform. Ensuring the performance, security, and maintainability of these services will be paramount.
• • On the frontend, you will develop and maintain sophisticated user interfaces and features using ReactJS. This involves translating complex business requirements into intuitive and responsive user experiences. You will work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure a seamless and engaging user journey, while also ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. Your contributions will directly impact how users interact with our financial services.
• • A significant part of this role includes building, documenting, and maintaining RESTful APIs and, as needed, GraphQL endpoints. These APIs serve as the communication layer between various services and applications, enabling seamless data exchange and functionality. You will be responsible for ensuring these APIs are well-designed, secure, performant, and thoroughly documented for internal and external consumption.
• • Writing high-quality, testable code is a core expectation. You will be expected to contribute significantly to all levels of testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and non-functional tests. This commitment to quality ensures the stability and reliability of the platform, minimizing bugs and production issues. You will also play an active role in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and upholding coding standards.
• • You will actively participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing your insights to enhance the system's scalability, availability, and overall performance. This includes evaluating new technologies, proposing architectural improvements, and ensuring that our systems are future-proof and can adapt to evolving business needs and increasing user loads.
• • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with product managers, business analysts, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver features on schedule. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
• • This role also involves providing crucial troubleshooting and support for production systems. As part of an on-call rotation, you will be responsible for responding to and resolving critical issues that arise in the production environment, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users. This requires a strong problem-solving aptitude and the ability to work under pressure.
• • Furthermore, you will be responsible for optimizing SQL queries and data access patterns against Oracle databases. This involves analyzing database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing efficient data retrieval strategies to ensure the platform operates at peak performance. Understanding database design and optimization techniques is vital for this aspect of the role.
• • This 6+ month engagement is on a high-visibility client team, emphasizing performance, reliability, and scalable design. Your contributions will have a direct and measurable impact on a critical financial platform.
