- • Build comprehensive cloud spend visibility dashboards segmented by product, product feature, tenant, and engineering team to enable financial transparency and decision-making.
- • Partner with Engineering Infrastructure and Product teams to define, implement, and enforce a standardized tagging taxonomy for cloud resources, identifying and closing tagging gaps to improve cost attribution accuracy.
- • Make cloud and AI billing data accessible through analytics platforms and automate exports to Excel, Google Sheets, and enterprise finance systems for seamless integration with accounting workflows.
- • Develop and maintain cloud spend forecast models that align with sales forecasts and product roadmap initiatives to support budgeting and financial planning.
- • Define and implement spend alarms based on budget thresholds and forecasted usage, leading investigations into cost anomalies and root cause analysis of unexpected expenditure.
- • Build unit economics tracking capabilities for the product portfolio, including metrics such as cost per customer, cost per operation, cost per API request, and AI token usage rates.
- • Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to classify infrastructure resources and correlate utilization data with cost drivers to improve efficiency and cost allocation.
- • Translate complex infrastructure cost data into actionable business insights for both Engineering and Finance leadership, bridging technical and financial perspectives.
- • Independently investigate cost anomalies, document findings, and deliver clear, data-backed recommendations to optimize cloud spending and improve margin visibility.
- • Utilize BI tools such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Looker, or GCP Data Studio to create and maintain interactive financial dashboards for real-time spend monitoring.
- • Design and maintain forecasting models in Excel and Google Sheets to project future cloud expenditures based on usage trends and business growth.
- • Drive adoption of FinOps practices across engineering teams by embedding cost awareness into development processes and promoting accountability for cloud resource usage.
- • Stay current with AWS, GCP, and Azure savings mechanisms including Savings Plans, Committed Use Discounts, Reserved Instances, and Spot Instances, and recommend optimization strategies.
- • Communicate financial findings and cost optimization opportunities to cross-functional stakeholders with clarity and precision, ensuring alignment between technical execution and business outcomes.
- • Support the company’s mission of proactive cybersecurity by ensuring cloud financial efficiency enables scalable, secure, and cost-effective delivery of the NodeZero platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant experience as a FinOps cloud spend analyst on a major cloud provider, preferably AWS
- • Strong exploratory data analysis skills in SQL and experience analyzing large, complex cloud billing datasets
- • Proven experience building cost reporting dashboards and financial models using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, QuickSight) and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
- • Experience in a FinOps role at a B2B SaaS company with a multi-tenant architecture and shared infrastructure cost attribution challenges
- • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate cost anomalies, identify drivers, and make clear, actionable recommendations
- • Experience working with Engineering teams to improve resource tagging and embed cost visibility into development workflows
